So, I guess no one noticed the line near the end of the Konamistyle newsletter last week with the words "beatmania IIDX 7th style" in English.

The translation says, essentially, "Next week we'll talk more about 7th style".

"Next week" is the next newsletter, which comes out Friday - which is tomorrow.

Hopefully we'll get some concrete details.

Well i finally got myself a konami iidx controller and 6th style for my ps2.(i sold my other ones before i came over here) It was kind of hard to find them used so i just bought them new for about $120 for both together. but i also got a $10 off coupon for the next purchase i make at the store so its kind of like $110 total. Not too bad for new stuff. I saw IIDX 5th used for just under $40 and 3rd style used for under $20 but I didnt feel like getting those now.

Its kind of hard playing IIDX on my little 14" tv though, hehe. Plus I've gotten used to playing standing up at the arcade so it feels weird playing sitting down again.

I also AAA'ed Spooky and Manatsu no Hana, Manatsu no Yume(both songs 7key) at the arcade, but im too lazy to post the pics like i usually do.

I would like to know about the history of Beatmania IIDX and why it became very popular in Japan and there in the US. Since there are not IIDX machines here in the Philippines, I don't know how the gameplay works that much. I also want to know about the mixes from 1st til 10th I think... and I wanna know more about the E-Amusement system which is very complicated.

Well yesterday I went to check out the IIDX 10th style location test in Ikebukuro (Tokyo) and...

...the test was already over!!! They had taken out the 10th style and put the 9th style back in.

So I didn't get to try out 10th style...

I'll be going to Louisiana for school next year and I heard they don't have IIDX either...better snag two ASC's...

On a better note, I know the AAA discussion was a couple of pages back, but I can't resist...

It happened on Christmas day. I had gotten a digital camera for Christmas, so I thought maybe I can take a picture of my rad, Good Attack IIDX skills.

Anyway, I played for a while and began thinking I could snap some accomplishments. For a good hour, I played Comment, and this is what I came up with. This is my very first AAA from any Bemani, so I'll say it's a good accomplishment. Shoot, I couldn't AAA a DDR song on Light if my life depended on it.

Pinoyfreestyler: I was reading this thread and noticed your question went unanswered. Basically IIDX is a much harder Beatmania, adding two more keys and stepping up the difficulty. It focused more around the techno/eurobeat genre for its songs to (I think) match it's ongoing themes. I believe it's popular due to difficulty as PnM is also another difficult Bemani, so I'm guessing lots of people love a challenge. Also, many say that they (IIDX and PnM) have a very good song selection, as opposed to DDR and such, which mainly has a lot of Konami originals and fewer liscensed songs like the other two.

I know what you mean by the absence of IIDX in the PI. I was visiting Bacolod (and the rest of the Visayan area) for a good year, and only came across a Beatmania 3rd Mix machine. But that came to no surprise to me. Beatmania cabinets are very expensive, therefore I find it highly unlikely that I'll come across a IIDX machine there. But, hey, I go there for a family reunion 2004. I'm definitely bringing my IIDX...

For an AAA in IIDX, do you have to get all Great and Just Great? I could have sworn I've seen people get AAA on songs with a handful of Goods and the like.
