so what is more impressive to watch?
1) playing on doubles
2) AA'ing songs

Depends who's watching, and what song. I'd rather watch someone half buttocks their way through Maxx Unlimited on doubles than AA Twinbee on singles.

As long as you look like you know what you're doing and not just trying desperately to keep up, it'd prolly be doubles I imagine. DDR players might be more impressed by AA's but ordinary bystanders would find doubles more interesting as they don't care about the more technical side of DDR.

As for how you tell DDR players from other people in an audience? The ordinary passers by will look at you. The DDR players will look at the screen

It's all about the crowd for me. And when you get one they love doubles especially a fast song. It blows there mind how someone can move their feet that fast. And its easier to get an applause from doubles than it is singles.

If someone can AA an easy song bar raping, I'd rather watch double bar rape.....

If someone can AA a Max or So Deep or something, I'd rather see that even if their sweat started removing paint from the bar.

As a seasoned DDR player, I can appreciate the significance of a AA/AAA and might find it impressive (depending on the song).

From a purely aesthetic point of view, however, there's just something inherent in Doubles play that makes it look more like "real" dancing.

Forget all this goofy PA stuff. I'd rather see someone freestyle on doubles better than AA/AAA. Not that I don't appreciate PA, I just think that freestyle looks soo much better. And since you are asking which LOOKS better ... Freestyle doubles.
