i like the home version (XBOX) playing on Live is great also.

Im not the greatest but im getting better eveyday, the Konami pad is actually pretty good for me. Got AA's on about half the songs so far.

PS> The Arcade is great too but its to damn far to drive there (40 mins) just to play.......and YES the atmosphere is the best part about the arcade.

i love my home pad cuz its VERY responsive E1.gif but then i hate the arcade cuz its like super poopy cuz u HAVE to STOMP in the CENTER of the freakin arrow. Thats y i can AA every song on the home versions except the level 10's. I mean i still pass every song on the arcade but it gets annoying gettin a C on max 300 when i can get an A every time on the home version. but thats just where i live in Fort Wanye, Indiana with the super poopy pads of phantom misses frown.gif

Heh.

Well, for me, it's Definately the Arcade. Here are some of the many reasons. 1) You can eat while playing; the dude at the Arcade doesn't care, and there's a table with chairs right by the Extreme machine!! 2) You don't that sense of self-esteem you get AAing a song in public, only to see the 12 year old ask for a quarter from his mother and fail on the Second song! 3) The social aspect! It's so fun making friends at the arcade, only to find out how much better they are at you! 4) Making fun of the Bar-Rapers. Hell, I used to do it, but like obesity, it's a habit you must break. 5) The 12 year olds impressing their girlfriend with their "Basic" skillz, only to find out this is a "Maniac" arcade.

I like The Home, too, but I only have SM on my computer, and DDR ULTRAMIX ISNT OUT YET IN CANADA!!! frust.gif Ah well. See you in the 'Cade!

3) Yeah, I'll agree there's nothing quite like that feeling! biggrin.gif
4) Hey, don't diss the Bar-Rapers OR the fat people! I'm 240 and I can pass Max 300 with an A or a B riiight.gif (w/o the bar)! And bar-raping is really important for things like MaxX Unlimited!!! erm.gif
5) Wow, 12 year olds with girlfriends...man, how time have changed in the 6 years since I was 12 E13.gif.

Oh, and while I obviously prefer the arcade, playing with a good pad (CF/homebuild) is much better most of the time, for purposes of gaining stamina and accuracy/consistency (well, at least if you play a patched version of the game, or on SM/DWI with the timing cranked up).

ARCADE! NO CONTEST ! No one else in my house plays the damn game ! I like having a buddy by my side to back me up if I am dying.. riiight.gif Plus I have a soft pad..and its not as good as metal ones. And you do get more songs...plus where I go they have 3 games to choose from.
5th mix, ddrmaxx, and extreme. Even though I don't mind playing at home. No lines, no waiting, no tokens happy.gif Buts still over all...it is the arcade that wins...well at least in my world... thumb.gif

AGH!! LOOK AT THE DOUBLE POSTS!! OMG!! Anyway, I've posted my opinion before, but its changed. I spent some more time at the arcade and I'd say its... better for different things. Arcade is the community... duh... but it sucks when you go and there are no DDR peeps there. I hate that. But to practice and learn songs, I'm totally content playing at home on my metal pad.

My size 14's and I have a hard time on both...but i think the arcade is better since people watching have never seen a 6'2'' guy move like i do!

I have DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 at home and I love the fact that you can do it any time you want and for free. From what i see people spending at the arcade i probably saved a lot of money. I want to learn how to do the arcade version though. I tried the other day and I had to stomp the hell out of the pad just so it responds. I dont know i still like the home version even though the pads dont last very long frown.gif

I prefer the Arcade. Nothing beats playing on a hard pad, carefree of wondering if it'll break down, loud music and flashing lights, and meeting friends and new friends who share the same DDR interest. Crowds liven up the experience too. Just the feeling of getting out is a plus in itself.

Home just isn't the same. Home is more worthy of practicing, IMO.

I don't have DDR at home because home pads that last are too expensive... I have Pump it Up however and the soft pads actually last.... can modify them to make them hard pads if I wanted to but thats a waste of time when I can play good on both.
