I tore apart my pad...

My naki softpad died about 1 month ago. So, I to "open" it up. First off, when i was seperating the layers, I found i very easy to make one cut with the scissors and simply tear the green sewing right off. it was extremely easy. I went from top to bottom. the top was nylon and looked pretty good nothing really wrong with it. The second was the first contact sheet(and i finally learned how it worked) It was a square of plastic wrap like covering. It seemed to have sensors "glued" to the bottom of the plastic. all leading up to the control box in the front. The control box looked like chip with the plasic sensors glued to it. The 3rd layer was the lame foam. Extremely, EXTREMELY thin foam with about 3/4 dime sized cuttings in it. By standing in the middle i understood why it broke. The middle layer is so thin the standing in the middle pulls the rest down and causes most of the sensors to connect. The foam ripped at the slightest pull and was scrunched up on the sides( they made it about an inch to big for the pad making the sides pull up. The next was the second sensor sheet. It had alot less wiring to it. The sides ones had a smaller sensory area then the bottom and top ones. Then the non-slip surface. which was prety much what the foam in the middle should have been like since it was alot more springier and thicker. The pad is very poorly made. The sensor sheets rip trying to support their own weight. Im surprised these things can last 2 weeks.

Hmm...never played home DDR before. I'm interested in getting DDRMAX2 for PS2, and Toy R Us carries a bundle with a pad. Is this the imfamous Naki pad? I'm goingto get a Red Octane metal pad when I can afford it, but I don't wanna play with a Dual Shock 2 until then.

; Is it worth getting the bundle? Or is the pad utter crap? I'm afraid it won't last the six months until I get the cash to get the metal one.

thanx, this help my research for converting a metal pad from soft. I really hate the intec to be truthful. I have on for ps2 and have DDRMAX2. It can't handle a 6 feet tall, 136 pounded, 12 y/o doing heavy. I hate when you press x, o, square, or triangle it presses one of the arrows. it always messes me up. Im gonna take out those sensors some day. Sorry if this has always been asked but, how/what did you (use) to open it?
