I am a new member, so uhhh, hey

Anybody here who "edits" songs in StepMania, can you IM me on AIM or talk to me here on the forums about how to edit songs, etc.? I don't have Stepmania yet, but my cousins do and I happen to want to edit a song just like others do. I will be downloading the newest version, as well as a ton of songs from the official DDR mixes. Anyways, can someone help me / tell me / give me tips on how to edit songs like they do on the net? I already have a few ideas, I just need to know how to do that.

I remember seeing a remix of Matsuri Japan that was 300 BPM, and it sounded much different.
