*7*...i can AA easy 9 footers, passed one real 10 footer (paranoia survivor) and passed 2 fake 10 footers (bag and sakura).

I see myself as a 4.5-5 despite the fact that i can pass every song on every level at almost any setting. Well all but PS, PSM, PSMO, and LOM double pad heavy. I've done my share of AAAs and AAs (more AA than AAA)But i still feel i got a long way to go. When got people out there getting like 95% and up on oni courses like Demon Road 1&2 it's kind of humbling and it makes you realize how much further YOU have to go. And there really are no perfect 10s out there, that's just not likely to happen. To be a 10 would mean you could pass every song, (singles and doubles) at any setting (set to make it harder, no helping speed mods) with no "extra help" (a.k.a bar raping) and get a AAA every single time your foot touches the pad. But i doubt i'll live to see the person who's skilled enough to do anything like that. And the main reason i say 4.5 maybe 5 is because at heart i'm really a freestyler and sense lately i've been kind of slackin' off i had to drop myself a number or two.

I'm not going to start off and be cocky like some of you, but I rate myself a 7-7.5.

I got 10 Heavy AA's under my belt.
I usually end up A-B'ng most songs.
I B/C catas depending what it is.
I can't turn yet, but it will come when it's time.
I'm good enough to play Doubles to pass some of the hardest songs and B'ng songs I play regularly.

Guess, I'm decent and good enough but not great!

Let's say I'm at the level that everyone hates: Where you believe horrible is not getting an A on a cata.

It's true what they say: You never are really satisfied. I AA Sync with more than 15 greats and I'm having a bad day, and everyone wants to kill me for being able to do that. Any Pop4 score under the 95...etc. really sucks, whereas 3 months ago a score like that would have me dead on the pads in amazement...

All in all, I would say I'm okay. Not amazing, not great, not even good... just okay.

(I'll actually consider myself good when I can pass every song... that seems a ways off though. PSM heavy just can't find the tempo, and the Oni for that is just insane.)

i can beat anything on light or standard and im doing pretty good on heavy ive been playing for a year but as a beginner i never switched to standard when i was ready so i got kinda set behind..

I would rate myself an 8.5. I can beat most 10's exsept for LoM PSM PSMO and... thats it. I can AA all 9's (exsept for rythemy ones like Tears.) I can play doubles pretty good. I can A PS. I was also 1 PERFECT away from AAA Iresistablement or however you spell it so... yeah I rate myself with an 8.5.

Since the rankings people give themselves vary so much with their actual ability, lets try this again.... -_- :

0 - "How the heck do you play this?!?!?" (Beginner Mode)
1 - Passes most Light Mode Songs.
2 - Passes everything 6 feet and under with an A/B grade.
3 - Can beat *some* heavy songs (mostly 7-8s).
4 - Gets "A"s on 9 foot songs.
5 - Passes everything on heavy (with the exception of 1 or 2 the "real tens" {i.e. ...not Sakura}.....), maybe a couple Heavy "AA"s.
6 - Passes all 10s with a B or higher (and AAs Heavy songs regularly).
7 - Has 5 or less songs left to "AA", and has "AAA"ed a few Heavy songs.
8 - "AA"s all (or with the exception of one or two) 10s and 10+s..... 20 or more Heavy AAAs.
9 - "AAA"s several Heavy songs a week, over 100 Heavy "AAA"s.
10 - *edit* Take

This is only my opinion, everyone has their own ideas about who's "good" and who isn't. I'm around a 8 on this scale, but I play with many people who are far above my level. DDR is like an RPG: After you get to a 6 or 7 (on my scale), you hit a plateau, and gain EXP much more slowly than before. Maybe a scale of 1-20 is more appropriate. :/

hmmm, when I was actually good and playing a lot, I would have probably been a 7.5. I could pass most things that I played with the exception of a few songs, and I could probably pass almost anything on doubles. just put it on roulette because it didn't matter what I got, because I could pass pretty much everything. I didn't have super good AA scores and stuff, but the fact that I could play both singles and doubles fairly well and pass most everything with a few exceptions.

now, bleah, I'm probably a 5 or less. I have a difficult time passing most harder, faster songs and my comfort zone is probably 7 footers or songs with a bpm of about 120-140. I strained a ligament last year and had to stop playing some, and when I came back, my stamina was shit and then I got really sick and had to cut back on my playing again. I haven't played in a couple months because I really haven't had the time or energy. I had surgery recently so I'll probably have an easier time after I get my stamina back up.

I can play hard/standard songs...mostly the songs I play.
Get's some A's..B's and C's..maybe a D or and E if it's a first time song.

Going by Kyrandian's rating system, I'd be like a 7.5... because I have 15 heavy AAAs, can AA 3 10 foot songs (Bag, Sakura, and Max 300), and can AA/get single digit greats on most anything under 10 feet.

Not that this matters at all, but everyone giving themselves 8.5s that are like, "I can pass most 8 foot songs, some 9" is not accurate... especially if a 10 would be the best, therefore being able to AAA everything (like Yasu or Take). With 8.5 being a whopping 1.5 steps away from being able to AAA everything, I'd say that Kyrandian's system is the most accurate... :O

i say a soild 9, i can AA almost everything cept for most 10's (can AA bag sakura and PARANOiA Survivor), and my PA is good SDG a few 9's

I'm with Cowman on this one...by your standards, I'm a 5, and I know a kid (Reflex) who, by your standards, is either a 10 (over 8K on Legend Road) or a 7....WHASSUPWITDAT?!?!?

Back to me now.....

I have 14 Heavy "AA"s SOMEHOW, one SDG <----Dam Dariram...total fluke, and NO PA whatsoever.

I can pass anything that's not LoM, MaxX, PSM, or PSMO with a "B" (300 and PS are still "C"s), but that's 'cause I get an over-excessive amount of greats. I can throw in at least 3 FS moves into ANY song I feel like (including pies), so that could offset some of those terrible PA point deductions. There's also enough endurance in me to play $30 of catas and pies (which I did Thursday) in a row, so there's more points for Stamina/Endurance attack, should anyone care.

I rate myself a 7...and I think I can be a 9 or maybe even a 9.5 if I can just learn to PA one of these years.

Then make "AAA"ing everything an 11. Your system...your rules. How about making a 10 "AA"ing everything (inc. PSMO and the other pies)? That would put Yasu, Take, and a few others outside of the "system," but make a 10 achieveable with a lot of work...which is pretty much true.

I can AAA a couple of lights if the pad works correctly
I can A just about any standard song
I can a,b,c any heavy song with the exception of (psm psmo lom mu max 300)
