I'm so torn right now, I love Halo to death, Hell, just last night I brought my Xbox and 4 controllers to my friends party and much Blood Gulch madness ensued. But for my money, DDR deserves alittle more credit than people think.
I preordered Halo2 5 months ago, perhaps alittle too early? _________________

What it's going to comedown to is number of people voting. I'd say we had 90% of the votes coming in for a good 17 hours. Now that gives us quite a lead but we need to keep voting if we want to win. I'd say spread the word to the DDRUK people and others. Because DDR isn't just loved by us over here in the USA. I mean even if halo has 10% more votes coming in right now that us that means there's quite a bit of catching up that needs to be done on their part. Just keep those programs running and spread the word that's all that you can really do. Also spread the program to other sites for other games so they can use it to vote ;). We want to keep it fair right ;). _________________

Well, see, that program only tells you the number of times it _ATTEMPTS_ to vote (i.e., in effect, the number of times it clicks on the vote button, if you want to think of it that way). Like J Dogg said, it was just thrown together quickly. All of your reports on X number of votes you've contributed are actually way overinflated, as the site only accepts a small fraction of them. (They apparently have (or did have) a system that prevented more than 1-4 votes per second... I don't know the exact figure, but I know as a fact they didn't accept a significant portion of the votes.)
Of course, that's still a huge number.
It'd be interesting to try redesigning the program to process the response to see if the vote was accepted or not, and get a more accurate figure on how many votes it's actually accepting. Then a more reasonable timestep could be constructed so that there isn't so much excess bandwidth.
Just a thought.

Poll closed. Be sure to tune in on January 2 to find out the results. Check out images from the games nominated for countdown.
I guess it is over...I bet we won though, even if many of those votes didnt get in _________________

Spike TV is also running a game poll although DDR is not one of the default choices in the categories it does have a area to vote for a game of your personal choice. Perhaps this should be our next endevour? _________________

I wouldn't be surprised if they closed it due to the amount of votes flowing in. Damaging their bandwidth with crazy amounts of DDR and Halo votes. _________________

It means not ALL of the votes that the program showed as going through actually would be accepted. But obviously there were still a lot going through, so everyone still made a contribution. I was just pointing out that they did have some anti-script measures in place, but they were only designed to lessen the number that go through, not eliminate them all.

I hope they aren't mad at us for ruining the credibility of their poll, but hey, it's MTV, since when was credibility a priority? _________________
