I spent 500$ (ca) on a hard pad. I have 5+ hours of DDR music on my comp. I have DWI with about 500 songs on the comp. I dream of DDR a hella lot. Every time I go to the arcade, I bring 'round 20$ (And my brother (Not the Dumb one)), and spend most of it, and I go to the arcade a LOT!!! I AA'd all the songs on max and konamixExept Max300 and Leading cyber:\(In konamix, A is a full combo.(Working on Max2)). _________________

You guys seem to be forgeting what I said about the amount of money you spend on DDR shouldn't be important, seeing's how some of us don't have that much to spend.
So just chill with the "oh I spent $50 at the arcade yesterday" crap. If anything brings me down more than reading posts like that, I haven't seen it yet. _________________

*looks at thread buried in page seven* Geez, I seem to have a talent for killing threads...
Anyway, here goes:
I type 'dance dance revolution' faster than my own name (Deanna)
I have stepcharts taped to my door
I have pics of Emi, Riyu, and Be For U pinned up on my wall (my awards are in a drawer somewhere...)I revive 'DDR Obsession' threads
I memorized the lyrics to 'Love Shine' in one day (after listening to it over... and over... and over...)
I'm half-way through translating 'White Lovers'
I've lost sleep over whether my Riyu Kosaka single will come in or not (It's been two weeks!!! )
I put 'Be For U CD' on my calendar for Nov. 28th
I can't go one HOUR w/o singing a DDR song
I'm 14. I can't drive. So I spend almost AN HOUR AND A HALF trying to convince every one of my family memers to drive me to the mall... I damn near cry...
I fantasize about meeting DDR artists (OMG IT'S DJ TAKA CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH?!?!)
I had a psychic dream about DDR (I heard Love2Sugar, a song which in real life I'd never heard before, and I was so damn near close it's scary...)
I spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon on DDRFreak.com bragging about how obsessed I am
I can relate DDR to any random object (Ex: computer-DDRFreak.com...)
I bought the premium Extreme CD off of Ebay for $10.25 (I just barely won it too...)
I've talked so much about getting a PS2, a DDR home version game and a good DDR pad, that my family knows more about it than most
I request DDR songs on the radio (they don't play them though... )
I SHOULD be studying for my IPS test on Monday, instead I'm humming Firefly...
Random family member: Why don't you stop playing DDR for a while and play some other game?
Me: *stares blankly*
Random friend: What's DDR?
Me: *spends next two hours explaining every possible aspect of the game*
Random DDR friend: I can pass Legend of MaxX on x2 sudden
Me: Well I can sing along to Daikenkai, Break Down, Ever Snow, Firefly, and Love Shine while passing them on heavy. (I think I won w/Daikenkai)
I dream about DDR more than I dream about being a Cardcaptor
So... who's the most obsessed NOW?! _________________

I drive 3 hours to the nearest DDR machine at least once a week- and pay $1/game. I don't have PS2, or Stepmania, but I did tape arrows down infront of my computer, downloaded a bunch of songs, copied the step charts off this website, made them my background, and practice/play them for 5 hours or more at a time. I'm currently waiting for Ultramix. All I asked for Christmas this year was a Cobalt Flux metal pad, money for another one, and gas money(for drivin to the DDR machine). I have the Ultramix Bundle as my desktop background, and I have been counting down the days for 2 months since I found out this game was coming out with the phrase: -- Days Left!!!. I post on this website at least 5 times a day. I come to this website at least 20 times a day. I have the Konami XBOX soft pad as my AIM icon(made it myself-) I've made at least 5 DDR icons for AIM. DDR and the Arrows are all over my folders and book covers for school. My friends and family make fun of me because I like DDR so much. I frequently come up with DDR Freak T-Shirt designs. I'm getting a DDR Freak T-Shirt. I'm going to use my neighbors cable internet for downloading songs, characters, and playing against other people for Ultramix. I played 20 games in a row at an arcade- $20=20 games=+1 hours= A ton of pissed off people. When I go over to one of my friends house, his mom makes him set up DDR for me- and he hates DDR(his sister loves it though). I cleaned off my dirty, very comfortable Adidas Big Court M shoes, and I am not going to wear them until I get my metal pad for Ultramix. After I do, that is all I am using them for. I recently did a speech on DDR for one of my high school classes, and borrowed a friends PS2 and DDR: Max for a demonstration. I download DDR videos on Kazaa.
Whew- long post. See if anyone can beat that. If I find some more obsessions, I'll edit them in here. _________________

- Bought a Midnight Blue PS2 just to play my import DDR (have only one non DDR game for it)
- Own 2nd, 3rd, 5th (thank you VxJasonxV ), 6th, 7th and Extreme
- Have two metal pads and two ignitions (intended for when I travel)
- Hung a dance pad on the wall for decoration, then proceeded to think about hooking it to the system and try playing with my hands. Also thought about lowering it so I could lay on my back on the floor and still play with my feet.
- Made my own logo for a sweater that says "DDR Academy, trainging to be a master" and has the Konamix logo edited without the text.
- A pair of jeans that I drew butterflies on and added the words to Butterfly on.
- I have a gig of DDR music mp3s. 7 different remixes of Butterfly and Dynamite Rave.
- A folder dedicated to DDR videos
- Caught myself playing on the tiles of the floor
- 84 DDR Freak people on my Trillian buddy list 10 of which are mods
- Traveled to another state in hopes of going to a tourney that was cancelled.
- Drove 2 1/2 hours to Fort Collins for a tournament, though I was sick and didn't enter.
- All of my friends that I met before playing DDR have been converted and play too.
- I take a moment to think if I'm going to play while I'm getting dressed because my wardrobe varies when I play.
- Have my cup that I only use when I play.
- Used to go to the mall from 11am-5pm and play the entire time (11-2:30 the machine was mine during the week). _________________

Yeah whatever, I do have a life. Since when having so many songs and liking to listen to them mean I had no life? _________________

I added numbers to your post to make it easier to compare.
1. WILL receive a PS2 for DDR for Christmas... or heads are gonna roll...
2. Refuses to play on soft pads (Too much DDR pride...)
3. My dad and I are working on it...
4. Not enough cash, no job 'til I turn 15...
5. You know, in an earlier post, I asked what Stepmania was, and no one answered...
6. Not enough cash, NO RIDE, no job 'til I turn 15...
7. My dad and I are working on it...
8. ??Schematics??
9. Gee, I'd love to even HAVE a controller, then I could do that too...
10. Needs... home... version... must... have...
11. See above
12. See #6
13. Randomly? Not on purpose? You mean like when I start to draw Emi, I start to hum Graduation unconciencely?
14. Practices on tiles when bored, practices on tiles when I should be doing Algebra homework, practices on tiles while listening to DDR songs on my many DDR CDs and looking at the stepcharts taped to my door, my walls... (yes theyre on my walls now too)
15. You can't dance while listening to the radio in the car... so I tap it out with my fingers... other than that same here...
16. Amen
17. Don't really swing that way...
18. See above
19. See #6
20. How do you do that? Do you duct tape them on?
21. See previous post (can relate DDR to any random object)
22. You got me there... I can't stand Naoki... (except for Kakumei)
23. Amen again! (But I still don't like Naoki)
24. See previous post (I'm known as "that girl who likes that wierd dancing game DDR)
25. DDRFreak, DDRei, Bemanistyle, TFAD, DDR4Life, Anime No Kokoro's DDR page, official Be For U site, Version Alpha (Official Riyu Kosaka site), konamistyle.com (courtesy of Babel Fish, even though they suck), DDR Index, Live 365 Anime Radio Nook (plays DDR songs), Anime Lyrics, a site I found on V-rare soundtracks, Chartzar (to print up the stepcharts, their arrows are smaller), ebay for DDR stuff, and the list goes on...
26. Still trying to convert mine...
27. That's nothing. My DDR drink is Sierra Mist; you should see how fast it goes...
28. EVERY DAY. (don't have the home version, remember?) Anyway, that's what DDR CDs, bedroom tiles and stepcharts are for, right?
And... my dream has come true... well, at least it came. I dreamt I met Be For U w/Naoki Maeda last night...AT MY HOUSE... it was a big party... with marshmallows & cheese puffs... they performed "Break Down"... anyway, full explanation on the DDR Music Thread shortly. It was an awesome dream. My best DDR dream yet.

You'd be in trouble if your van suddenly had to brake. Imagine if that happened while you were going down the highway, and you were in the middle of a jump... |
