I know 9th runs on Windows XP and the rest don't. Does that mean it's impossible to upgrade a IIDX style to 9th style without changing the entire board?
I'm doing a favor for someone who wants to buy an 8th Style because he can't find any 9th Styles. So if he can, he'll just upgrade the 8th when he can find a 9th upgrade. But he needs to know if 8th can be upgraded to 9th first.
Thanks!

Yes, it's possible and has been done many times over. |

iirc, the actual 9th style upgrade replaces the entire guts of the machine with a PC. that's why the 9th style upgrade is more expensive than others.

That's what I figured. I knew it had to involve replacing the entire motherboard so it can run WinXP.
Which makes one wonder why it hasn't been pirated yet for home computers which also run on WinXP.... _________________
