I play the game, because it's good exercise and all the crowds from playing it makes me feel good and makes me want to play more and more. |

Ooo...intersting question.
Hmm...it was new and different. It looked like it would be fun and challenging, and I needed a hobby anyway.
Now I play it because I want to achieve various goals I set for myself and to help stay in shape. _________________

The only reason I started was because I saw other people playing and I got curious.
I have much more of a reason to play now, though. My mom treats me like crap and doesn't appreciate anything I do, so I go to the arcade and play, hoping some random spectators will walk up to me and say how good I am. I also play to get better and hope people at tournaments remember me for my skills.
Short Version: I play to get that feeling of love and recognition I don't get from home. Sort of a sad escape from reality, but it works for me. _________________

I first wanted to play because I had heard about it, and wanted to give it a whirl. No particular reason.
I still play because the game is well designed to still remain difficult as you get better, and there is no actual way to "beat it". Most games, once I beat it, it's not as fun, but since there is no end, and I can always get better, I keep playing, much the same reason why I still play Tetris. |

I'm a big sucker for musical stuff. Therefore, since DDR is a music game, of course I get sucked into it. _________________

I like seeing the reaction on peoples' faces when they realize a girl can move that fast. Tee hee. I feel satisfied knowing that I'm actually good at something and that other people can see me in the process. _________________

I've never been much of a multiplayer gamer. Nobody in my house growing up was into games, so I played solo. Now that I'm older, that tradition has carried on to the point that the only games I play at home are solo adventures. DDR is such a personal challenge, it makes me put as much effort as I can into it, with the great reward of passing a new song, or receiving a higher grade. Sure, there are tournaments and with Ultramix the online competition, but it's still just me against the arrows at home.
Plus I've lost almost 35 pounds so far. The look on people's faces when I tell them I've lost weight playing videogames is priceless! |

I first started because my girl at the time forced me to, but when i moved away and hadn't played for awhile, I rediscovered it because it was something to do, it's great exercise, and I've met some amazing people, including some of my best friends through ddr. I also love the fact that no matter how good you are, there's always something else to do to challenge yourself. The fact that i love the music helps too. _________________

What made you want to play DDR at first?
Interesting question, I saw an arcade that was different than the others with its blinkin lights and thought of checkin it out.
What appeals to you most about DDR? It can be physical, mental, social or whatever makes you want to play the game.
Physical=Exercise, FS, Workout, Dance, and Stamina
Mental=Sightreading and Memorizing
Social=Friendships/Relationships _________________

Well, it looked interesting, and it was something new, so I decided to play it, and promptly failed in about the first twenty seconds of the song. (I believe it wa Ba Kkwo) I kept playing though, and I met a lot of people through it, so mostly I play it now for the music, exercise and social aspects. _________________

I originally started playing after a few of my friends started playing and became head-over-heals obsessed with it. I started playing more after having to listen to Dam Darirum over and over and over again in my friend's car to the point that I started liking it and other DDR songs.
Arcade-wise, I enjoy the social aspect of the scene over the hardcore striving for AAAs. However the most appealing part of the game currently for me is that it is excellent stress relief playing at home. It also helps to keep the "freshman fifteen" away. |

I started playing after seeing it on tv a whole lot (Now that I think about it, that is actually pretty pathetic... )
Now I play it cause
1) I'm in love with the music
2) Its not really dancing, but its still fun to play it
3) I like how you can keep on trying harder and harder songs, allowing you to improve your skills. |
