I'm thinking of doing an FAQ for Pop'n 7, but first I need 10 people to fill in a survey frown.gif

UPS just delivered my Pop N Music controller with Disney Tunes E1.gif

I ended up ordering it from Toys N Joys.com since they had the controller for $59.99 and Disney Tunes for $54.99. Shipping was $11 so the controller ended up being about $30 cheaper than ordering it from Himeya with EMS shipping.

I was kind of surprised that the controller was so small but I guess it's good enough since I'm not spending $400+ on an Arcade Style one.

I couldn't find anywhere else that had it and the last time I saw it on Ebay, it went for $92 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3046457173&category=11054). And I wanted to start off with a game that had songs I was familiar with. Once I get a JPS2, I'm planning to get Best Hits.

A question for anybody who owns an ACS controller: How big are the buttons (diameter measurement) and how far appart are the buttons spaced (both horrizontally and vertically)? I'm thinking of building one of these myself.

Hey...... another guy from Wilmington. Not much Bemani around here outside of that one DDR machine in the Concord Pike movie theater, is there?

I'm paying him about $180, which is about $70 more than materials and shipping... Good for both parties!

Well for anybody who wants to see it, here is my Popn10 network card. pic taken with my cellphone so its small.

i know there are several more, but i'm not sure how many exactly. 2 other cards i am going to send to my friend are different from this one. I`m not quite sure what the popn cards do except for keep track of how many songs on regular, hyper and ex you pass. I know the IIDX 9th style cards keep track of what grade you got on a song, but since popn doesnt have grades, they cant do that, hehe. At pretty much all places i've seen each card costs 200 yen(just under $2).

oh and if you do come over here be prepared to see Popn 10 machines everywhere. Pretty much every arcade i've been to has at least 1 machine and some have several machines. It is by far the most popular bemani game over here.

YoshiFan: Is that PnM controller on toysnjoys.com an official Konami brand or third party? If it's official Konami I'm considering buying it.

whoa yesterday i saw one of the normal(small) konami popn controllers in a used game store for 980yen(just under $9). I was gonna buy it, but then i don't have any popn games right now, so i didnt get it. oh well. i was just surprised to see it for so cheap, hehe.

oh and i found out there are 10 cards in total for popn. I saw a picture at an arcade yesterday that showed all 10 cards for popn 10. i took a pic, but i only had my cellphone, so the pic isnt too good.

Yeah, sorry Nappa. Apparently the only music games in this area are Max2 at Regal, Max 2 at People's Plaza, Extreme at the Dover Mall, and Pump:Prex at Kahunaville.

All of my bemani gaming is self induced. I have Guitar Freaks, DrumMania, and Pop'n w/ ASC. Definitely worth it and I wish an arcade in the area would score the game so that others could see that as well.

I just wanted to say that, I'm happy! I passed a few new Hypers, and I can tell I'm getting better at the game every day! Stuff I passed:

Classic Hyper
J-R&B Hyper
Darkness Hyper
Classic 5 Hyper (!, but I only passed because the ending's easy. I would have gotten owned if the ending was like the bulk of the song. My score was less than 60,000, or whatever about 6/10ths of the max score is)

And probably a few others. What are some good Hypers to attempt next, on either Best Hits, 7, or 8?
