what do you guys think? no one to be in competition with, PIU will still make new machines? or it'll go out soon and they wont even bother makin more? i think since DDR has ended (from what I heard) they won't even bother making more since they think it got old.

DDR hasn't ended yet, there are rumors about a new 1, and PIU i think has been dead for a while already, i could be wrong, but PIU cannot compete w/ DDR ever, the only good song in PIU in my opinoin is Loner by T.T.Ma.

I hope it doesn't.. There's no reason why PIU should stop just because it's main competitor's finished (If DDR *does* end).. to be honest I prefer PIU to DDR, It's much more challenging stepping-wise and I don't freestyle, but the freestylers i've seen on PIU wipe the floor with the DDR freestyle i've seen.. (no offence to any freestylers here) E1.gif

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Hmmmmmm DDR is pretty far from dead where I am...and PIU is far from dead anyway as well...from my sources PIU is still doing pretty darn good...

...honestly...music wise I prefer PIU over DDR...and PIU to me is just ten times more challenging than DDR.

It's just personal preference thats all...

well... personally i love both PiU and DDR, and where i live neither are dead nor are going to die out soon, lots of people just started to get addicted to my local pump place, and ddr is packed as always, and pump released a new machine and my friend told me about Konami releasing new games... so i have no clue what you people are talking about. From what i see, neither are going to die anytime soon.

I don't think DDR is close to it's end an I don't think PIU is either. They both have their markets and appear to both be going strong.

PIU will NEVER be as popular as DDR because firstly, it can be a LOT harder than DDR but once you master PIU, you can look really cool while playing it!

I personally prefer the song selection on PIU games compared to DDR as I'm a fan of K-pop music. biggrin.gif

I may say that they're both not coming up with anything innovative, but I don't see death as something we'll be seeing anytime soon.

Despite the fact that there won't be any more new DDR arcade versions (except in Europe), I think Andamiro is going to keep releasing a new PIU every 6 months like they've been doing. However, I'd like it if

1) one of them actually showed up around where I live, and
2) if they'd actually have more than 60 or so songs for once.

I like PIU... not as much as DDR, but it's alright.

If DDR really did die off I'd go straight to PIU, I have yet to even try it though, but I'd love to. Shame we don't have any in our area, this site needs a PIU machine locations list too, even if it is DDR Freak, they should still incorporate other types of foot based bemani.

In the Groove Is right now poised to take over for DDR if and when it (DDR) dies. It has a lot to do with the sheer overabundance of mods (most notably, you just can't beat SM's classic Quick transform finally making it to the arcade) and (proposed) in-arcade lesson-style modes.
