Yeah...if you like to break things.

I'm sold. I'm getting one of these RO pads when I can afford it. They sound almost as good as the Cobalt Fluxes and for $100 less!

BNS IS as good as cobalt flux AND is only $138.00.
http://www.buynshop.com/productinfophp3/VG-DDR-MPD

Read the info, Im pretty sure BNS was talking about RO when they said:
"*Other Dealers are selling similar pads without the POLY Carbonated Panels at $199 +)"

You might wanna stop trolling around. Your wonderful and insightful reveiws of the BNS pad might wanna spend their time happily in its own BNS reveiw thread. I was under the impression I was reading the RO Metal Pad reveiw. We know you love your cheaper pad at this point, you don't have to keep saying it.

I move my RO Metal Pad around a lot. Its survived a tumble down the stairs. Still works like the day I got it out of the box. Roughly a moderate player. Any problems with this pad are too tiny to really get caught up on. Great Pad.

Hey all,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm stepping down from Vivid status effective immediately, as I am leaving RedOctane before the end of the week (another career opportunity presented itself on my birthday biggrin.gif ). I won't be able to help you with your inventory or ordering questions, but I'll keep an eye out for questions I can answer. Take care, and thanks for playing! E1.gif

This pad looks like a good prospect... what's important to me is whether the pad is easy to repair or not. I bet the pad will last for 2 months up to 5 months no problem, but after that I want to know if it's easy to open up and add new foam or re-flex the arrows or something similar. Does anyone know?

Crypto, please don't try to hijack this thread again. This is about the RO pad, if people want to look up info on other Melal pads there are threads for those.

WrathX, best of luck in your carrier change.

Tha DDR Playa, let as know what you think after you get it and have played a bit. Just one piece of advice, take your time taking off the white sticky stuff. It is worth it to get it off in once piece rather than picking at it for an hour. (or inform us if they heard about the complaints with this stuff and changed from using it)

Disco, I am not a materials wizard by any stretch, but I do not believe they are plexiglass. That stuff breaks with just a little force sometimes. These seem pretty strong. Others would probably be better to comment.

As soon as they shipped my Metal Pad, it went extremely fast. I got it in 2 days, even though I paid for ground 3 - 7 days. I was impressed. Though it appears that I was one of the first to order this pad. So I didn't have to worry about the "Out of Stock" Problem.

It was shipped by Airborne express for the US. I don't know who they would ship through to Canada.

Hey Genedefect,

So you say you got yours in 2 days when you paid for 3-7 ground? Do you live on the west coast? I hope that it doesn't matter so I'll receive mine quick too!! And about that sticky crap, what's an effectively method to getting it off quickly and perfectly? You know how it is when you get something new, you don't wanna fool around with obstacles... E2.gif But like you mentioned, it'll be worth it. Don't worry, I'll post a review and let ya know how I like it, when I get it that is....... E4.gif

Crypto -

Please note that if you derail this, or any other thread, you are going to be warned, and I don't think you can afford any more points.

So very tired of getting complaints about you.

peak it off very slowly is the best way. and when you get to the spots on the edges by the arrows, kinda lift up on and try to pull it out vertically without tearing it. If it tears off though and some gets stuck in there don't worry, a little bit of heavy mode play and it will be out of there on it's own from the rubbing.

Can somebody post some pics of the contacts for this pad?

PS: Cryptoddrfweak, the BNS may have the same poly-carbonated panels but it doesn't have the same sheet metal on sheet metal contacts, Vance said it has metal foil, which is used in all those cheap 3rd party metal pads.

Yes it does. Who's Vance, and when did he buy BNS?

note: not "hijacking" thread, just replying to slayer....

People, this is a thread about REDOCTANE PAD REVIEWS!!!

Cripes, take it to the metal pad discussion or something, I see no "BNS review" or "CF review" or anythingother than "RedOctane" in the title.

Anyways, about the RedOctane.

I love mine. It's not completely flat like the CF, but not deep like the arcade.

It's incredibly responsive. I play 5 catas and like 5 easier songs a day. I've been doing this since the day I got it (September 12th).

The foam rubber bottom works great. Instead of small rubber things, the whole bottom is covered with a sheet of incredibly firmly attached foam rubber.

The nice metal has a great finish. It's like a mirror. Getting off that white poopy that was on it when I bought the pad took me an hour. It sucked.

There, to this day, is residue on my arrows from the clear poopy that was on it. Mostly on the diagonals, because I never play solo.

The control box is nice. Detachable, so you can hook up control boxes for your PC and XboX without buying a new pad. Totally sweet.

As for the control box itself, the plastic is a little weak, but then again it's not like we stomp on it or anything.

This pad continues to impress, in many ways. After buying this I trust RedOctane.

I'm glad I didn't get a BNS. My friend got one before I got my RedOctane. I really liked it until it got weird (ghosting and sticking and such). I had already ordered one so I canceled and ordered my RO.

Couldn;t have made a better decision. E4.gif

Thats why buying pads is so risky, because that's the most important part and you cant see it until you buy it and open it up.

Please post some pics soon, I also want to see the RO's insides.
