I can't believe it.

I got the DDR MAX 2 (US) package yesterday. Last night I hooked it up and was playing, when my dad (he's 48, electrical engineer, generally very analytical, serious) came and watched me with a fascinated grin. I got done with the song, stepped off. "Want to try?" I asked. I was shocked by his answer "Yeah, sure. Just put it on easy."

So I put it on beginner. Rick went to town on that thing. He didn't do very well in some parts, but the latter half of the song he did a really great job. (The song was the one by the Chemical Brothers.) I mean he did better then me the first time I was on the pad! (He got a "D." But he still passed!)

I've also noticed that everyone who starts the game has a habit of "going home" after their moves instead of standing on a directional arrow. I think I'm already starting to outgrow this on the fourth day of play.

Probably meant Busy Child by The Crystal Method. A good song, might I add.

My father is an analytical (Like you said) hard-ass who believes all games are a quote; Waste of money, time, effort, and space. The time can be used for more productive things, like homework, exercise (He said that AFTER he saw DDR! he says It's still a Video game. I say WHO IN THE NAME OF CREATION CARES??? He says the same stuff over and over. I get the feeling my dad hates me. I'm serious E2.gif ),stuff like that end quote. He'd get on a pad the second after he admitted to wanting to be the tooth fairy. He doesn't even watch me when I play at the arcades when we go to the movies. E2.gif

Yeah, basically. Also, It doesn't help that in the demonstrations they give for you, they show the character model playing like that. They actually teach you the incorrect way to play! It's like showing someone how to type by showing them the "hunt and peck" method.

My mom played DDR a couple times on DDRMAX. She didn't do too bad. She's someone who's able to catch a beat, and she was able to get like, a "B" or something on Remember You (I forget the name).

my dad is the one that got me into DDR. he played before me and he quit.
he quit cuz he plays softball and he injured his knee. so he dont feel too good when he plays. but both my two sets of parents are proud of me and my DDR abilities. my dad could prolly beat me.
i got my mom to play once and she did alright. she got the PS2 game for me. both of them are getting me more addicted.

My mother has never played...but I was in the arcade the other day when these 50 year old women tried it. They did pretty well too! They went out and bought the game right after playing it too.

My dad once played Nori Nori Nori, using two feet for each arrow. disturb.gif
He said he plays much better that way, but needless to say, he didn't pass.
