Does anyone else have trouble playing DDR with contacts in. For some reason my contacts get extremely dry when I play, so much so that my vision is blurry past the point of being able to see the screen. Sometimes they will get off-centered and will not move back because they are so dry.One reason may be because I hardly blink at all when I play. This is one thing that prevents me from finishing alot of songs( that, and i get so darn out of breath) I've even had my contacts just pop out while playing. It also doesnt help that the screen is always full of fingerprints to the point where the screen is hard to read anyway. Also there are these bright buttocks light right above the machine that glare on the screen.

what I think I may have to start doing is bringing eye drops with me or blink a whole lot.

Hmm... I don't wear contacts. But my friend does, and when he plays sometimes he wears his glasses instead of contacts. Cutting the risk down of his contacts popping out and such as you explained. But just wear glasses. And it's not good for your eyes if you don't blink, it allows dirt and stuff to get in your eyes.

But just wear glasses.. should help. blink.gif

The only problem I ever have with my contacts is that sometimes they give me a blind spot making it incredibly difficult to see the screen, simply because most of my concentration is on impulse. I've never had my contacts "pop out", that only happens if I swim with my eyes open or something, and yes, blinking is a crucial part of being a human, so do it often.

Well, you are jumping around so the contacts are moving alot more than normal. And when playing DDR ppl tend not to blink, which really dries out the contacts and sucks the moisture out of yours eyes. That is all I can think of really. I've never played with my contacts in tho E10.gif

Yeah, I used to play with contacts in and they would dry out since I don't blink when I play I guess. I've seen other players have contacts pop out after a song. I don't know if there is any real solution, other than getting a pair of glasses.

*has glasses now and doesn't even bother with contacts*

I play with contacts, and mine occasionally fall out. You just have to learn to deal with it, or blink a ton.

This leads me to believe that I'm right. People don't blink while they play DDR.

Hmm... I play in contacts whenever I can motivate myself enough to put them in, and apparently I get the opposite effect out of them... my eyes tend to water a lot more with contacts than without them, and sometimes they slip and make a big blurry blotch in my line of sight. riiight.gif Either I blink a lot, or my eyes have become thoroughly adjusted to dry climates.

i never saw the problem of me wearing contacts when playing ddr. i actually prefer it to glasses. glasses suck when you're in anything physical.. like a sport because they fall off too easily... but yeah.. people get irritated when contacts dry up.. i know my friend doesn't like playing with contacts in because they don't blink, mine get a little irritated but i don't mind it.

I've never had a problem with my contacts drying out, either in-game or out. Then again, my contacts seem to agree with me tremendously- I've never had them pop out or irritate me or sting me or anything, even if I'm too lazy to take them out for a week in a row.

The one problem I do have is, once I start to sweat, my hair (which is rather long) tends to bring my salty sweat into my eyes, and the salt stings my eyes like there's no tomorrow. If my face or my hair is covered with sweat, rubbing my eyes is not a good thing.

I've learned to avoid that, though, so it's not a problem.

i just read your the post and i'll answer it to my best. i have glasses just for long reading, not for ddr. I would say put in eye contact drops, between songs. That's all i can think of it.

I used to wear glasses. But, whenever I'd play DDR, they'd slide down my face. Really annoying. Now I wear contacts (hard), and I haven't had a problem with them yet (DDR related). And, boy would I be pissed if one fell out. That's like $80, right there.

I think most people would imagine that glasses would just slide off or jump around and crap when your jumping... But, if it works for you do it.

I wear contacts and i know what you mean. Either you forget to blink cause your nervous of missing an arrow or you not blinking enough. What i do is either force myself to blink or put in eyedrops before i play so that it won't dry out and move around. thats wat i do but you can do it your own way
