So far I like the game, but I don't like the idea of putting MAX. into the game. I can't pass it on SM, what makes you think I can pass it on EX. I want the game.....must get it!! _________________

Ok well for one,The flip top sucks. Why does it suck? Simple. What it does is dooms you to that type of ps2 FOREVER.Meaning if you ever have enough money where you want to get a new mod chip,it can't be done.Once you remove that flip top,it's bye bye ps2. Also, you cannot use the swap magic disks on a ps2 without the flip top unless you have the really early models. Messiah 2 pro is the best. |
How exactly does it "doom" you to a fliptop only PS2? I could easily put my old cover back on and install a real mod. I really don't see what you mean by when you take it off, it's "bye bye PS2".
I've been using a fliptop for about a year with no problems. DDREX boots no problem. Every IIDX game boots no problem. I haven't harmed my PS2, and didn't waste 80 bucks on a chip. |

Hmm, people have been proclaiming each new mix as THE LAST MIX EVER since 4th mix. I'll start imagining we have seen the last mix when one stops coming out every couple of months. |

I emailed Konami shortly after MAX2 was released, and let them know we'd like more versions, with more songs; their reply was that all they had been working on was MAX2 for PS2, and a version for the XBOX. Who knows if they were withholding info? |

I would think the basis/code of the DDR series is just reused for each game; all that's changed is the music, steps, and background video. For this reason I don't see why they don't produce more US versions. Seriously, how much does it cost to print a Disc compared to how much they make per Disc. This series should have huge money making potential, what am I missing here? |

It wouldn't kill them, but you have to realize that Konami is a Japanese company first. If Konami of Japan felt like it would be worth getting the licenses to the (so far) US-exclusive licensed songs, they would. Konami wouldn't waste their effort on making a new song for a US DDR mix by not putting it in a JP mix.
It's a cynical response to be sure, but probably the most correct one as well. |

A while ago in this thread, someone asked what the best Swap Discs were. Well here's the answer.......
The only Swap Discs the you wanna screw around with are Swap Magic discs.
They play all PS2 imports and backups. Period. The number of games it can't play can be counted on ONE hand...
Although if you want to use ANY swap discs on your PS2, you must have an alternate way of opening your PS2 - like a Slide Card, or Flip-top. Or you could just open your PS2 the hard way each time if you're THAT low on cash. But really the Slide Card is less than 10 bucks so why bother
I recommend the Slide Card. Some folks will warn you that "OMG OMG NOOOO YOU'LL SCREW UP YOUR PS2 THIS WAAAAAAY". No. Just no. The ONLY way you can do any harm to your PS2 this way is if you do it COMPLETELY and utterly wrong. I've been doing it for a few months now, and my PS2 works just as fine as it did when I first bought it. As long as you do it right, there's no problems whatsoever.
Also, the SC is less than $10 on most sites, AND if you still have your precious warranty on your PS2, it WON'T void it ^__^
The site I bought it at gave me a Slide Card/Swap Magic combo deal for just 18 bucks plus shipping....... _________________

Why not make a slide card for free?
While you guys are busy swapping, sliding, switching ps2s, and burning your laser out i'll be playing
So anyway does anyone have an unlock list (like doing what to get what)? _________________

Clear thigns up for ppl that might not understand.
You can unlock max. regularly like any other song but it takes a while. If you pass the legend of max on extra stage uoi unlock it and then your new choice for extra stage is MAX.. and just like the legend if you beat if on extra you unlock it... but I can read the legend on 2x but the 600 bpm part on MAX. is insane on 1.5 so yeah you might wanna just unlock it the regular way. For each nonstop you beat you unlock 2 characters. I think that is about it. _________________
