haha i did the same thing kinda to Matsuri Japan, i used to call it "M" Japan, cuz it was in the M section on ABC order. another one of my big mistakes was watching too many OldSchool freestyle videos then entering a tournament with a J-Dogg rip-off at a tourny full of preformance freestylers and got dead-last. but hell everyone makes a mistake sometime. |

well, i used to look down at the pad alot and after a while the screen's arrows began to fuse together and my mind started to blank.. nowadays its pretty much the same except i dont look down at the pad and i use the blurring and blanking to my advantage. i still cant hear any one around me when i dance |

I was totally lost on how speed mods worked.
I thought they actually sped up the song. But then I thought that if they did that then the song would be off beat. That could just be me being stupid, however
I also went back to the middle a lot, but this is only because I followed the guy in the picture (I played first on Extreme) _________________

One of the biggest mistakes I made was thinking that an oni song had trick steps... Boy did I learn that the hard way. I also thought speed mods made the song more difficult, not easier. Another one was letting annoying kids shadow you. Let em do it once, and then they think you're their friend and do it everytime your playing! |

n00bish mistakes....
lol mine was rather painful.
It's the first time I'm playing DDR. It's at a popular arcade where it caters to young adults mainly, so it's very "hip" and a popular place to hang out on a weekend night.
So anyways, I'm with my family (it's a Friday night), and I see the DDR machine. I see one guy going crazy on it (this was way back in the day when DDR USA MIX came out, and by "going crazy on it," the guy was doing Paranoia Standard.). DDR is very new and there's easily a crowd of 100+ watching him (it was in a very large room, next to the bar in fact).
I was strangely attracted to the game, and told my family to wait while I try. So after the first guy is done DDRing, go up and DDR. I ask the guy to pick a very easy song for me, so he gives me Butterfly Light, shows me how to play, my life bar, etc...
30 seconds into the song, I trip on the ridge of the panels on the pad and fall, banging my head into the bar on the way down. In front of that same 100+ crowd.
Wow all I can say is that I didn't come back to that arcade until I could AT LEAST pull off 7-footers. |

Well,it wasn't done by ME,ofcourse, but I was in florida. I was trying to SDG Love shine on heavy at the time,so I did it. This person goes up after me and chooses heavy, then Love Shine,so I'm thinking he's going to show me up. Well,I'd wager it was his first time playing as he goes up and does NOTHING but watch the arrows go by. So the amchine was set to where you get the fail after the song. So as soon as its over the kid goes "YAY I PASSED IT!". Then he failed. _________________

When I first started out (last year) I was the king of returing to the middle after a step. I am proud of the fact though that I've never even TOUCHED the bar. I don't get to play it in arcades a lot, so every time I go to Mackinaw City, MI I play like 15 times in a row.... at $1 per play... that gets some people mad. But the people who own the arcade have a son, and me and him play, and he gets me free games. _________________
