It stands for "Crip-Walk". It's more of a strut than a walk really, and it involves taking steps with the heels of your feet rather than the flat parts.
Go figure, I can explain it, but I couldn't do it to save my life. _________________

There isn't an arcade near me, but there is a rather smallish group that has started fairly recently at my school (I've been playing for like 2 years, now), and I don't really mock the other people. Sometimes I'll be like "play on heavy, c'mon!" and basically tell them they should be working on playing on heavy and stuff. But I don't really taunt people. I'll just play and blow them all out of the water. And I do try to help them, and stuff, too. |

Honestly, if I had never played with people who were better than me, I never would have gotten to where I am now (played for a year, starting to break into 10s).
When I started playing, I played with a bunch of friends who I thought were quite good for getting A's on End of the Century light. My competition instinct got the better of me, and I practiced so I could get to their level and then pass them up. And I did. Afterward, I broke into heavy around April, when I had a week off school and a fresh 30-day pass to the local GameWorks. There were these kids getting very respectable grades on HVAM and Rhythm and Police back-to-back the first day I got there. I made friends with these kids, and I probably gained more skill over that one week than the rest of my DDR time put together.
So, yeah. Watch the experts and pick up a thing or two, even if it is out of envy of their mad skills. It definitely pays off. |

Some people are just ignorant to the fact that it takes practice to get good at ddr. _________________

That makes me really mad when players are better than others and make fun of them. I'm better than a lot of the players out here, I've taught like 5 or 6 people how to play (One of them plays 10 footers now; he's only been playing for two months, yes he is my prodigy!), and I just think we should help one another out rather than bad mouth people.
But, a lot of my best friends are better than me, so its nice for me to play with them; they taught me how to cross over _________________

What a coincidence. That's how I learned to cross over, playing with a couple friends who were much better than I was. That's also about the only piece of advice I've ever gotten from a better player, I think: "It's easier if you turn, like this." "Whoa, cool." _________________

all right to crossover takes a bit of time it is basiccaly when u have 3 arrows (at least) or more ) that r in a position such as this ( left arrow, down arrow ,and right arrow).to crossover means to simply step on the arrows in succesion of the last foot u stepped with meaning instead of double stepping u have to simply walk across.this with lots of arrows looks stupid because u will be twisting ur body in ways u didnt know it could be twisted .and it gets much more complicated with many arrows .so to be able to do it u will have to learn to read arrows good.but once u do i think that u will agree with me that cross-overs r some of the of the funnest steps in the game! |
