Yes I can see by just looking at them they'll last for billions of years and respond perfectly.

You might want to ask about the brand and not just throw up some pics. A person's experience on the pad will be a much better evaluation than a pic of random pads.

You are better off building your own pad. The ones you buy don't last as long. I would recommend ddrhomepads for just a standard mat or patsters if you want it lighted.

The RO pads are worth every cent. I have one. 5 catas a day, for two months now and ZERO wear or signs of wear anywhere on the pad. Plus it's incredibly durable for when I stomp it really really had after frick up the runs on Drop Out. riiight.gif

if u can afford it, cobalt fluxes are good. Indestructable E1.gif The RO's are good too, it just hasn't had enough time to go through a year of beating.
My CFs will be here next week laugh.gif

I wouldn't recommend their metal pad because it seems like it is just another cheap 3rd party metal pad (I e-mailed them about it and they replied with an answer that only said that the pad I am referring to is there new pad (I didn't even ask that question), I made by question more clear and I haven't heard a response from them ever since). The best metal pads available right now are the RO (redoctane) and the CF (cobaltflux). I recommend the CF because of their outstanding reputation. If that picture is the right one, don't buy it (you'll encounter several problems just like the others that have bought those cheap 3rd party metal pads)!

OK i have bought one of almost every metal pad out on the market trying to find a perfect fit one that could last playing maxx unlimited 15 times in a row on heavy. i have to tell u if u have the money CF pads all teh way but then the red octane pads have been working for as long as i have own ed it which is im one the first people to buy them they are very good pads also cyphergames v2 pads they are crap broken panels first day of use and they no fix those bns pads total utter crap i have theat one for spare parts know the cyphergame v2 pad worked longer and is still working. those new neo pads i destroyed 15 panels on that pad so far so dont get that one and the mymybox pads i think are pretty good too i have that one sitting next to my cf pad on the wall and yes i do have enough money to afford all these pads i wanted to be able to give good response to people who asks questions like this and that i work for a video game peripherial company which i wont say NAKI oops i did who are sorta working on a metal pad of there own so the rankings of these pads are
1. tie between CF and RED OCTANE
2. Cyphergames v2 pads
3. MYMYBOX pads
4. Neo pads
5. BNS pad

i'm going to take a closer look at Red Octane. Anything i should look out for such as materials if i was going to buy or build one that i might want to avoid or is there a section i overlooked that already has that?

Cobalt Flux's are IMO more aesthetically pleasing than RO pads. But if you don't have the money for the CF, go with the RO.

I built a DDRHomePad, and I'm so glad I did. See the link in my sig. The best thing about it--if anything ever goes wrong, it's easy to diagnose and fix cuz you know exactly how it works! Only spent $85 to build it, so if you have some time and building skills, I'd very much recommend it.

i know a way to convert the softpad to 2 metal pads [no soldering required]:

cut the pad out.
Get each sensors and place them for the four arrows [there is a total of 10 buttons and 8 are about the same size].
Basically just make a metal pad with this kind of wiring.

I know its kinda of vague but if your interesting ill make it more descriptive.

you dont have to use metal tho, u can just use scrap wood.

I am milidly interested in that thetaller1.... I only have 1 softpad though.... one of them died so i may have to buy 2 new softpads for it to work cause i'm not sure my other soft pad will last long enough as a metal pad... it seems like it's about to go soon... that's why im more interested in buying a metal pad but if i can build one easily, cheaply, and quickly then i might try it.... Also dose anyone have the actual dementions of the actual ddr pad, if i build one i want to make it as exact as i can to the arcade pad....
