Hey......first post!
I've been reading through the pages on here for a while now and have noticed that there are two completely new pads for sale on ebay that were never mentioned before.......one of them is a "Neo Competition Pad"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3051912798&category=21185

and the other doesn't really have a name and it looks really similar to a lot of the other pads on ebay.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3051522290&category=21185

one of the "Competition" pads went for 64 bucks last night and I was really tempted to buy it.....but wanted some feedback from anyone that might know something about it before spending 103 bucks with shipping on ebay

If anyone out there knows ANYTHING about these pads please post a reply E1.gif

Well, I just got my Neo pad. Paid like $115 after shipping for it (got a good deal on a non-BIN auciton). I decided to get it because I was talking to someone online that owns a DDR machine and he said he has these, too, and they feel a lot like the arcade. Although it wasn't what I had expected (since I haven't played on a home metal platform yet) it seemed kinda odd, but functions nicely (just got it today) and feels pretty much like the arcade platforms. The arrows hardly light up, but that's not so big of an issue. But, seems like a nice solid platform. I'll be sure to post a follow-up if anything starts to go awry.

Is the pad u purchased one of the so-called "competition" ones or one of the older models?

Also, I found another new dance pad on Ebay....at least I think it's a new one because I've never seen it before or heard it talked about :-)....it's got cypher games watermarks on the pictures so I have a good feeling it's made by them.....but it looks different then the metal pads on their site.....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3051554719&category=21188

It's only 99.99 with fairly low shippng.......anyone know anything about it? E19.gif

Well...can anyone give me an opinion on the BNS metal pad? Both of my soft pads are crappy now...before I could get 120+ combos, but both pads keep missing arrows constantly. frust.gif I spent 70$ total. Even though thats not too too much, it still sucks that they both broke done within a year....So if anybody can help thanks. E1.gif

I wouldn't recommend their metal pad because it seems like it is just another cheap 3rd party metal pad (I e-mailed them about it and they replied with an answer that only said that the pad I am referring to is there new pad (I didn't even ask that question), I made by question more clear and I haven't heard a response from them ever since). The best metal pads available right now are the RO (redoctane) and the CF (cobaltflux). I recommend the CF because of their outstanding reputation.

I got the competition one. The one with the boarder around the outside. It is very nice. I think (especially for the price) it might be a better buy than the CF. Just, the cable is a bit short. Need to go to GameStop and get a PS2 controller extension cord. Also, it seems like it should hold up for a while. Can't be sure, yet, though.

Hi guys,

I have seen some other people have ordered that Metal Pad with Rail from Lik-Sang(europe). The price is nice and you can pay on delivery in europe. So thats even better. Now, anyone already has his pad? Cen he(she) write a comment on it? I'm so looking forward to mine, but i doubt it will be here soon, seems to be on backorder frown.gif

Anyways, i'll let you know when it's here and how it works!

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=0&products_id=3681& just in case someone wonders which on i mean E13.gif

Has anyone heard any horror stories about the Neo, and/or have heard about needing to mod it in anyway? It seems like a good price, and even if it does eventually break, I guess I have a nice metal frame to try to make my own metal pad.

When did you buy ur pad? "Neo" has three new models out and the guy claims that there's only been one small arrow crack reported out of all the pads he's been selling (If you check ebay......he's sold a lot of them) So either the guy has stepped up the pad's quality or he's just lying to me and the pads really just plain suck....i dunno.....

I'm just not looking to shell out the kind of cash for a RO or a CF right now.....

I haven't yet. I wanted to make sure that if I did buy one, and it breaks in about 2 months, that it wouldn't come as a shock.

i bought one of his and they've been great for 3 months. I havnet modded it at all and it works great on carpet. The metal bar thing around the pad probably keeps it from bending. Any way its a great pad, but you wont find a lower price anywehere else, ive looked.

Do you know what model of his pads you bought? Cuz he claims that the newer models need no modding....but again....he could just be lying to me....i dunno.... E19.gif

well it's been a month since i had the ro pad and the pad is still responsive but the bad this is that the switches on the control boxer are both broke so have to get new ones............. the switches look like they were gonna give anytime soon. But overall get a RO if you got the cash. My friend has a cf and he loves it but you might reset the game b/c where the start and select buttons are......... not good for getting max combos!

I've had 2 cf's for almost a year and I've never reset my game while playing. If your feet are at the very edge of the back 2 panels while playing you should re-evaluate your technique.

the lik-sang pads with back rail could be pre-ordered in Europe, so that's the reason no-one has them yet. But I noticed today that when clicking on the pad the time for shipping first was 2 - 4 weeks and now it said within 1 week, so I guess they're coming! That would mean in about a week 2 metal pads for me! And the shipping isn't that much! Shipping is 57 Euro, that's with Cash On Delivery(=more expensive) and also with 5x EMS USB psx to usb convertors...

If anyone has a CF, please, I just want to know if it's worth the money. I have a home built metal pad which kicks buttocks BUT lately it's very unreliable, and i have to take it apart and re-solder the wires (a grueling process i assure you) weekly.. i'm just getting sick and tired of it, and i'm willing to drop the money if they'll last me a lifetime and have no ghost steps (pressing and not responding). Thanks alot.

I weight about 170 and play Heavy 90% of the time. AFAIK, the only thing that would work well for me would be a CF or a homebuilt pad. Homebuilding isn't really an option due to lack of necessary tools.

But then there's the RO metal pad. How durable is it? I like to play really damn hard songs like the MAXes. Can the RO handle it without modding?
