You can unlock *Hell Scaper* by just playing game mode a bunch of times.

It's Hell Scaper everyone... get it right

I played BM for the very first time today at the arcade. It was Complete Mix 2.

Somehow, I managed to beat a 5 star song (321 Stars) erm.gif ... E7.gif
It was on Basic though. I beat a bunch of songs from 1 star to 4 stars. After all that, I still can't beat Genom Screams. disgust.gif

Please tell me Ska A Go Go is better in Hard mode.

One thing that was bugging me while playing:
Why do some songs randomly appear and disappear in the song list? Is there any way to stop it from doing that?

I played BM at Narrows Plaza on Normal, and failed on Afronova Primeval. First time though.

Are there any Beat Mania IIDX 9th Style machines here in the U.S.? I have heard many bits and pieces of the goings on about IIDX 9th Style, but I just wound up confused.

I actually would'nt consider genom screams to be NEAR a 4 star, because it actually has the same notes as the hard version (6*) which confuses me...
Then again easy has easier grading. *shrug*

I played CM2 today. Someone was nice enough to give me the All Music code before I started playing. (On 2P side after you put the credit in, push 1 9 times, then 3 8 times, then 5 8 times , then push effector and then scratch) biggrin.gif

Still no luck in Hard mode. Ska a go go on Hard and Hell Scaper on anything are nuts. TetraQ is pretty cool.

***WARNING: n00b Beatmania question***
When you play with two persons --not a dj Battle-- and the two people have different note patterns, is it easier than playing with one person alone? I played BEATMANIA III 7th MIX today (for maybe the 3rd time ever playing BM) and I picked a 3 star song and barely scraped by, but then my friend tried it with me and we picked a 4 star song and it wasn't as difficult. So is it that with two people doing different parts of the song it is easier than one person doing the whole song alone or is it just me getting more used to playing BEATMANIA?

For 2 players to have the same notes in a song, you need to be in Battle mode. Then, both players have the same 1P song to play.

Normal 2 player mode is cooperative and the song is mostly split up and traded off between the two players back and forth.

*nods* And that's the way it's always been.

oh, did you use a floppy for BM3? There seriously should be a score thread online somewhere for BM3 7th. I'd love to share my scores with other players.

also worth pointing out that on Complete Mix 2, 20 November has the same notes on Basic and Hard. On Hard it's a 5 but on Basic it's a 2.... what?!?

Boy did that frighten the hell out of me when I was starting out with Beatmania... I picked it because I knew the song from DDR, and was aghast at just how difficult a 2-star song was. Little did I know it was just one of Konami's crack-induced difficulty rating moments E10.gif

It seems like it's the same pattern in DDR Extreme.

Lets talk about the beatmania 6th mix expert plus mode. You get one bar to do 10 songs. I've made it to the end of the 9th.

All maniac songs

1. Pink Dream
2. Feel the light
3. Virtual Drummer
4. Laughin
5. Who gotta funk?
6. Smack up
7. Tear it up
8. Disabled The Flaw
9. New World
10. ??? (im assuming Drumfunk)

a little more advanced question...........maybe.........

our arcade has BM Complete Mix 2, and in hard mode the blue stars w/ the difficulties sometimes have red stars behind them, my guess is that it is Another difficulty? if it is how do i access them? I'm sure you can access Luv To Me (Disco Mix) in regular song selection, same w/ R3 another and Turning the Motor Over Another, i'm tired of playing those songs on expert mode >_< i wanna choose them on my own, and turning all music mode doesn't even give you access to them frown.gif well, anyways, hellscaper is getting owned by the end of the week biggrin.gif then i'll go back to IIDX biggrin.gif

I discovered this by accident E10.gif
To access the anothers, press the top 2 keys at the same time.

Seems like there are a lot of CM2's all over the US. Why is that?

I've never played a Beatmania arcade mix (though i do have a ton of PSX versions...). Howver, taking a quick glance at the songlists...

* I've never been able to find a 7th or THE FINAL in my searchings for Beatmania arcade cabinets. (Don't suggest Channelbeat if you go looking for one out of spite)
* CM2 has a bunch of somewhat recent songs all packed into one, and even though it only has two dificulties I have a hard time finding a stinker in the list.
* Core Remix and 6th mix aren't bad either (coming from a 6th+core PSX owner), but they each have far fewe songs. A 6th+Core arcade cabinet would freaking rule, on the other hand.

I'm not a beatmania player but I would like to know about the history beatmania IIDX and why is it most popular in Japan and America than in the Philippines? I also wanna know about the IIDX gameplay system and perhaps some hardware issues. Since there are no beatmania machines here in Manila, the locals won't know much.

Thanks
