i had a red octane ignition 2.0...baught it in january...and now the middle of the pad sets off the up arrow, and stepping on the up arrow does nothing most of the time. so uh..i think that pad is going in the garbage.

as of tonight, ive been using my friends cheap madkatz soft pad that he gave me for free. funny thing is, i couldnt beat "So Deep" on my ROI2.0, but i beat it both times i tried tonight on the generic pad. crazy eh?

you are joking right? laugh.gif

we're currently using the BuynShop.com's non-slip pads that costed us a total of $80

we might buy metal ones...unless we think about making our own metal pads which might include the bars E7.gif and we're not kidding btw lol

A modded (read: repaired) beat gear 4-panel.

Long story, don't ask.

I used a modded RedOctane soft pad for the longest time, the kind they don't sell anymore. It was actually really responsive, until something shorted out on it... I'm still trying to figure out what. I will fix that pad -- it shouldn't have died so quickly.

Now I'm using a home built pad, and it duplicates the arcade quite nicely. I'm working on collecting parts, item by item, for a new pad, one that's smaller and lighter. I really want to put this design to use.

im sorry that i prefer to play at an arcade, and dont wish to spend hundereds of dollars on a metal pad. if it is not arcade perfect (or rediculously close), the pad is worthless to me.

Well, if you figure it out mathematically, each game is 50 cents, depending on where you go.

That means thats every time you play 200 games, you "spend" 100 dollars.

Once you've played 400, 600 or 800 games, depending on which pad you've bought, you stop losing money and start making 50 cents every time you play.

last week, I made about 50 bucks by staying home and playing ddr

As you can clearly see, the metal pads are worth the investment.

I agree with you on the quality of pads though....
Thats why I hate cobalt flux so much. They charge you an arm and a leg and don't even attempt to make it arcade perfect. Metal border, Matching arcade colors, slightly depressed arrows...etc.
