Don't buy it!!! It's a cheap buttocks third party metal pad. Those always suck. The only good metal pads are the CF and RO.

That's the lik-sang metal pad: http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=14&products_id=3681&

it's cool. more stable than the thinner metal pads. and it lights up when you step on it i think.

I've pre-ordered the Lik-Sang metal pad with back rail. The shipments within Europe will start in 2-3 weeks the website said yesterday so I pre-ordered 2 of them right away! I'm trying to figure out whether there good or not for a few weeks now and nobody seems to have tried the pads, so I just ordered them and hope they'll be alright... I'll post a review when I have them.

If money was no object, what would you buy, a Cobalt Flux or a Red Octane. I'm almost beginning to regret ordering the CFs when the ROs are only 200$. Hopefully the replies i get to the this post will boost my spirits.

it works great, i was playing barefoot though. it might be better with shoes. except when it got shipped here, it wasn't in 100% condition, maybe only 90% cause there were some scratches and the corner metal pieces were deformed. but with some hammering, they shud be back ot normal. the thing is freaking heavy. i still haven't put the rail in yet.

the metal pad doesn't directly connect into your ps2, it has some sort of usb plug that plugs into a black control box. the black control box plugs into your ps2. i guess u can plug the metal pad into your computer too?

the sensitivity of the arrows is great, better than the arcades. but i've only had it for a couple days so far. oh and one difference is that the rail is thinner and taller. that's bout it. the sies of the arrow light up whe u step on it.

Hey Dubbs, how much noise does the pad make.. do the arrows "click" when you step on them? And, you said its heavy, will it be too much of a pain to transport from like garage to an adjacent room each time i want to play?

Did u order off Lik-Sang? I saw the price is listed as $109.00, then when I chose shipping and handling, it says $159.00. I would assume, and at least i hope, that the $159 is merely the $109.00 with 40 dollars shipping and handling added.. not $159 shipping and handling in addition to the $109... Unfortunately I have more important things to do with money than spend $270 on a pad.. E2.gif

Have you played on a RO metal pad or a CF? If you have, how does the LS pad compare? Also, could take some pics?

Click on the metal pad with back rail. Click on order... Go on clicking through the screens. Click on Credit Card and next. Now you'll see the total cost (pad+shipping costs)...

When you live in Europe the pads cost 129 euro and shipment is 30 euro for spain, 10-15 euro for other countries...

Don't know if they'd ship them from the US or only from Hong Kong when you order something in the US @ lik-sang.com...

The one without the rail sucks. Don't buy it. I don't know about the other one.

All I have to say is, build your own pad. period. double period.

I just finished a homebuilt that uses a kind of amalgam (combo) of all of the existing designs, plus a lot of ideas I came up with while building it. The pad took me about 14 hours to make and an additional 4 hours to tweak, but I've come up with a good way to reduce tweakage time to about 1 hour.

I'll edit this later today and post some pics of the guts of the pad, at some point I plan to write out an instruction set and post it on my webspace.

These are the stats for my pad:
Weight: 35 lbs (approximate)
Height: 4.5 inches (it's thick, but it's sturdy)
Width and Length: same as standard pads
Arrows: 4 (could easily be expanded though)
Contacts per arrow: 4 (will be doubling this tonight, sensitivity isn't quite as high as I'd like and I beleive it is due to the number of contacts)
Sensitivity: Adjustable
Controller(s): USB Gamepad, PS1 "Turbomaster" controller and room for up to three more, provided you can solder (design allows for addition and removal of controllers without re-wiring any internals)
Lights: No (will be added in SangPad v2)

The controllers are external right now, but in V2 they'll be completely internal and linked to buttons on the pad. In addition, v2 will include a lighting circuit and an improved contact design.

If you've got any questions, AIM me at Ranma4243 and I'll try to answer.
