I think that if you do heavy when there are other ddr players that play on light and standard they think that u are a god to them cuz ur better then them

for people who are freestylers and the less experienced free stylers think that your a god to them cuz you can do things that look cool like a matrix walk

But that is just what i think riiight.gif

When someone watches a freestyler, all they see is someone dancing. If they're a really good dancer, they'll get a crowd. But most freestyling I've seen isn't good dancing by itself, it's only good when you know that they have to step on certain places at certain times WHILE dancing.

Seeing someone do Max300 is impressive to anyone.

well it realy depends on the crowd and such, both take equaly skills. Heavy players have a lot of skills busting out cada and such. Freestyle people have the skill to make songs look good but without failing and stuff. Cause usualy when u see people on a ddr machine there just nubs playing basic and the crowd likes to see people do some skilled song like max 300. Then again its hard to actualy choose between the two since they are both equaly entertaining to me.

Sometimes its hard to choose cause im hella sloppy at freestylin and I am playin on light so its looks like im a noob playin funny.

But playin in heavy, youre showing people youre not a noob and show them step moves.

But how I play it I freestlye for kids and any non-asian people.
If there asian I have to play heavy cause they might play DDR and they might laugh at my sloppy Freestlye. So asians Heavy, Non azians and kids Freestlye thats how I play E15.gif

I think doing well on Heavy will attract crowds more then FS. Like mentioned before Freestylers look dumb (no offense) to people walking by and will more or less get laughed at. While people doing Heavy will get people looking at them and saying, "whoa....how's he doing that...thats amazing". Of course this is from expierience at my local arcade. riiight.gif

Agreed.

Speaking from experience
watching someone play on heavy is more entertaining because seeing someone accomplish something like PSM or any of the max's is a sight to see.

Depends on the player, crowd, time, phase of the moon, the number of blue cars parked out front, if it is the Monday on the 3rd month after you have paid your taxes AND they were late etc. etc. etc.

I've seen a crowd look at a heavy player and say, "But that isn't dancing."
I've seen a crowd look at a FS player and say "But there's not a lot of arrows."
I've seen Heavy players screw up in and thus the crowd was not impressed.
I've seen FS players screw up or have a stupid routine and thus the crowd was not impressed.
And the most often I've seen is the crowd split on the descision on what is impressive what wasn't.

As has been said, it all depends on the crowd.

If there are a crowd of DDRers around, you'll have to pull something heavy out of the bag to impress them. For general passersby, a great big funky FreeStyle will get you the attention.

Thing is, where I am, there are no other real DDRers - plenty play the machine, but they're all townies (though I must admit I'm pleased to see the average skill level increasing). When I play a heavy song, I get a few people watching - but they're playing the machine anyway. A FreeStyle, on the other hand (yep, Phrewnecki, Spin the Disc Doubles is the way to go) I can sometimes draw in people like a magnet. (And sometimes not).

There are a lot of people saying how FSers can be described as 'stupid' or 'idiot' by people watching. Of course they will! *Anybody* who steps out in front of others to do *anything* will be attacked by some. The key is to do what you want without letting the nay-sayers get to you (I get my fair share of that, don't worry).

Of course, if somebody FreeStyles Heavy, heh, they'll get the best of both worlds....
