What version of DDR did you "Grow up" on?

I was officially nursed on the first american DDR...I'm not good with names....so I don't care...
Then, I moved on to konamix and grew up and became what I am today...not that good....well, I'm better than most I suppose, but I'm not a freaky freak creepy DDR freeeky freak.

i grew up on the US 1st mix arcade (butterfly, bb$, b2u, paranoia, trip machine, etc. that mix). i played this all the time back when nobody knew what it was. i can remember back when paranoia maniac was so impossible. anyway, along with that at the same time, i had learned on home versions with 1st and 2nd mix for psx. then a few months after i started, i got 3rd mix for psx and could consistantly pass 9's after a couple weeks of playing them at home in training mode.

I grew up mainly on 3rd mix and 4th mix, where I was taugh by other players. From then on there is no other game that can bring a smile to my face and a joy in mz heart... Or something like that.

I remember the beginning like it happened yesterday...

...ok, so I sound like a veteran by beginning like that. Hecks no am I a veteran. I really only started playing DDR frequently about a year ago. On the DDR MAX2:7th Mix machine at CSUS (Sac State). It's still a fond memory of how I really began however, hope no one minds my flashback.

*cheesy flashback effects ensue*

Anywho, I really started my interest in DDR at my Sober Grad Night at the beginning of the summer in 2002. We went to the Stockton Golf Land/Sun Splash (rather small place, bleargh

) for our last event together as a senior class of Sheldon High School. Most of that night I spent playing DDRMAX2 (without my knowing of it's title), doing mostly Look At Us (Daddy DJ Remix) by Sarina Paris and The Whistle Song (Blow My Whistle Biznitch) by DJ Alligator Project. Then when I got to Sac State last year, I slowly crept my way into the DDR world, with those two songs and also Long Train Runnin' by Bus Stop becoming my all time favorites. Alright, I'm probably going to be called a posting whore for writing so much. It did call this "What Mix Did You Grow Up On?" so I think it's justified to talke about my growing up, right? Ok, maybe not but whatever. I R stupid, and I leave now.

PS - I used the word Biznitch so as to censor the real word in a way that didn't look stupid. Blow My Whistle doggy? What the crap is that?

My first home version: DDR USA (I thought it was the BEST thing ever...and I played Let Them Move a good 15 times!)

I'm glad those days are long gone...

My first arcade games were on a 5th Mix, but about two weeks into DDR our arcade got a 3rd Korean instead, so you can say I "grew up" on that machine...

first i started on the 3rd mix at Flagstaff mall then they changed it to ddrmax2 about after 3months i started and im still on max2 and sometimes i go to the mills and play their DDRE but over all i think that max 2 is what i "grew up on"

but this really sucks that i don't have it at home or anything

Well, I pretty much grew up on the 3rd mix. In fact, I bought the 3rd mix game. When they changed the 3rd mix from the arcade to a MAX 2, I got so mad, but I learned to actually like it.
