Topic. I think there should be more than one bar on a DDR stage. I would like 3. one on the left, right, and back, for more freestyle action. _________________

Christ, then you'd have to start calling it a DDR cage.
I like the one bar.
And also, why would 3 bars give you more freestyle action? It just cramps you. |

I'd like none, but that wouldn't be "safe" and probably not preferred by anyone else but me. _________________

hehe, hell in the cell DDR match? sounds awesome, but i'd rather just have bars that fit on the ddr pad like legos. that way, we could all have as many bars as we want and not aggravate each other with fancy crane designs... |

I'd also support a barless stage 1st of all to prevent bar rapping on easy songs 2nd so that i stop hitting it with my hand during my wild flailing and throwing me off. lol _________________

three bars would suck.. especially if your doing doubles and freestyling.. which i don't do much, but whenever i'm with my boyfriend i do.. i don't like to bar rape, but I don't mind other people doing that.. it's their choice not mine.. |

Funny, I did my first bar vault today...and got a great...
I usually play at home so there is no bar and that's what I'm used to. I feel I'm a better player because of it, but it hurts my chain of improvement because it's not there to fall back on on harder songs _________________

I always considered there to be two bars, since I always play doubles. They're useful for keeping balance, and for getting my bearings sometimes.
Two bars is fine as is. You don't want a bunch of poles stickin' up around the mat waiting to trip you. |

With three bars for each side, you do realize that it makes playing double virtually impossible, right? That is, unless you can afford to jump above the bar for some of the steps, but I'd be worrying about my groin first if that's how you'd like to do it.
Other than that, somebody should really go for the "DDR cage battle" idea, like westling matches of old. Something about "the cage" just sounds irresistably cool like yelling "the chair" in an anime con. _________________

Okay...
How about...
|[_][_]|
The bars on the left and right are... bars.
The under scores are bars for the back.
The boxes are the pads.
I never thought of doubles...

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
The barless solo stage sucks very badly. It is much too thin, and has horrible feedback. It's like playing freaking home version. _________________

A Hell In A Cell match sounds fun, but...
Overall, I'd like bars completely removed. For tech players, that means no bar raping! For the freestylers, while it does remove certain moves, it also allows for more free movement. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

3 bars - no way, at least not for me. I flail around so much while playing I'm lucky I don't break my arms/legs off the walls of the arcade, never mind if Konami decided to install limb-smashing bars all round the pads.
Bar-hugging? No, I don't like it myself - but I've no problem with other people who do. After all, it's their problem if they don't look as good at it. Leave the bar-huggers to it, people! _________________
