I think that price is absaurd. I really think that the game should only cost .50 cents a game. Because at most places the pads are all frick up. The screen is all dirty and you cant see. I'm asking you guys as fellow DDR players, What do you think about this? About the price? And about the DDR mechines conditions to play on? _________________

I think maybe you should look for a cheeper arcade if you don't like paying 1$ per game.
Otherwise there's not much you can do. |

Actually i have found it VERY common for ddrextreme to be a dollar a game, the cheapest in my area for ddrex is 75 cents JP (joint priemium r0x0rz). but soon VERY soon its going to be back with my ol arcade with ddrex for 50 cents a game. _________________

I think $1 is pretty damn steep. So I just do not pay that. I am currently away at college, and it is $1 at the only place in town with it. I choose not to go there and just play in my dorm room on my metal pad I made. |

A dollar a game is not outragous. That has been the average for a game for a long time. Just be glad that you don't play at the Block where it's $1.75 per game. If you live in La Mirada, CA there's a bunch of nickel nickels near your area where you can play DDR EX for 30 cents a game. The Brea McDonalds near Knott's has an DDR EX for 75 cents a game. If you don't like the price for your arcade, then let the arcade owner/manager know that they are too high priced and that there is places much more inexpensive and better condition than their place. They will either lower their price and/or fix the pad or you just need to find a new place to play. |

I think it just depends on the number of songs and the mix. 1 dollar for 4 songs on EX is reasonable, 1 dollar for any amount of songs on 1st mix is not. |

75 cents is the average I expect to pay for a game of MAX2 or EXTREME, the only time I'd do $1.00 was if the machine had every song unlocked, and if I knew I could get a good crowd going.
Yeah, 50 or 25 cent DDR would be sweet, but it might cause too many people to play, and on a Friday night, that could cause a problem in some places. |

I think a dollar for DDRExtreme is fine. Im just lucky that I go to playdium with the credit system. $25 can get you 200 credits and if you do the math thats $0.12 per credit and I think its 4 credits per play so thats about $0.48 per game. Its awesome |

I just got home from our local arcade. They have a beautiful DDR Extreme machine there. 4 quarters for 4 songs. I spent 20 bucks in 3 hours. Drank 2 Red Bulls and an entire liter of water, passed Max300 3 times, LoM 2 times, Sakura 3 times, PS 2 times, and failed PSM. I don't think these blisters will ever go away.
I'd say that's 20 bucks well spent! |

I think it's too much. Our DDRex is 75 cents a game, and the DDR scene is a whithered skeleton of what it used to be. I'm one of the few holdouts, but I'm starting to play less and less. $1.50 for doubles?! It really adds up after a while.
The problem with us though is our 5th mix was about 30 cents a game. Too much of a price hike too fast.
I'm probably just going to buy my own machine and be done with it (I'll save money in the long run). |

I think for a $1 machine, 4 songs is reasonable. I've seem like $1.50 for 3 songs before.
I now go to golfland wich has a double token special, so a ddr game is only 50 cents, with 5 songs, so for each song i only pay 10 cents. _________________

mo cap boxing- a buck
top skater- a buck
that skiing game- a buck
almost all racing games- a buck
all shooters that involve some sort of toy gun- a buck (except for the old school ones, like area 51)
I'm beggining to see a pattern here... |

And all of those games are geared to people who come in, play a couple games, and leave. How many people stand there and play Time Crisis 3 for hours? How much of a "community" builds around the latest racer?
DDR's different, people do play it for hours. It's got a constant flow of tokens into it, but only if it's priced right. Like I said, the price change for us just killed DDR dead. The arcade would be making a lot more money off DDR if it was still (roughly) the same price. |

Reasonable prices, IMO:
On EX: $1 for 4 is fine.
On 7th: $1 for 5 or 3 for $.50 is fine.
On 6th: Flash in the Night and BBBB are on it, so I would pay $1 for 3.
On 5th: $1 for 4
On 4th Plus: $1 for 4
3rd: $1 for 4
1st, 2nd, and Solo I'm not really interested in playing. |

I think it depends on the number of songs you get to play.
Five songs: Pretty good deal. Not great deal, but pretty good.
Four songs: About average.
Three songs: Seriously pushing it. Play sparingly.
And on another note...
