Im just getting into DDR, and have been reading multiple form threads including the horribly long and undwieldy ultimate "sofr" and "hard" pad threads. I am a larger male (220-230 lbs) and want to go ahead and invest in a decent pad, rather than just ebay some used Mad Cat. The top two soft pads seem to be the DDR Max, and the Ignition 2.0

Right Now, Red Octane has a special to get a DDR Max + Ignition 2.0 pad for the low low price of $99.00

This is just about the same price as an Ultra DX Xtream + copy of DDR Max.

Both of these pads seem to be good, with the 1 inch foam on the inside, and minimal slippage. Both seem to need a cover (which I will get also) and probably need taping to some sort of board to extend their life.

I have seen several people say that the DNS Ultra DX pad is better, and several say the RO Ignition 2.0 is better.

So Im about thinking they are the same, except for the price. Several people have complained on how the Red Octane pad is so much more expensive.

But ath the same price which is better? If I dont hear any thing back by Augh 24th, Ill probably go with the Ignition 2.0 pad, as I have heard their customer service is pretty good.

Thanks for the help.
