Only click "Submit" once. Even if it doesn't appear to be loading, just give it a few seconds, and if you end up double posting, just edit the unnecessary entries down to something like "double post", instead of making another post saying you double posted.

I am happy to have a bf that plays DDR. Makes things alot simpler. Conviently he just happens to work at the arcade E4.gif But it's really nice to be able to play and hug someone who doesn't mind you all stinky and sweaty from playing. Plus we have other stuff in common as well. So it's not like its a relationship built totally on ddr.

wow, most of the guys i meet that play ddr are really cool, but i end up getting into this "freind only" relationship with them and it gets to the point to where i can't even think of them as a bf and they can't see me as their gf, just their good playing buddy. and that sucks because one of my requirements for a guy is that they must play ddr (along with being an anarchist and beiong obsessed with rpgs) or else the relationship would be a drag because i would always want to hit they nearest arcade while they would want to go somewhere else and who needs that kind of conflict?
SOOOOOO... any hot guys in California looking for a ddr playing gf??????????? laugh.gif please respond E13.gif

I'm not looking for a love conecction or anything I just thought I would let you know that I am in CA, San Diego and don't see many females that play DDR. I know of two that go to the local arcade and they are pretty good, get constant AA's. What part of CA do you live in?

Hey everyone .. just thought I'd put in my two cents' worth on this topic. E1.gif I met my bf because of DDR. I'd seen him playing it and was quite impressed, so I thought he would be ultra cool. Unfortunately it took me a couple months after that to get ahold of him (through DDRFreak!), but I'm glad I did because he's totally awesome, and I have DDR to thank for gaining interest in him. It's pure luck, but just another reason to love playing DDR! Oh, and we both love playing it, and we play on Heavy. You've probably seen his posts here and there .. he's a DDR Freak regular. E4.gif

I've met a bunch of guys playing DDR (seriously, male dddr community population, 99.9% around here)... I've dated a few of them (3 i think), but... it's not because they play ddr... because i'm into other guys as well. ^.^ it's just nice having similar interests and such.

Well I made similar post on the "Dating DDR girls" thread, but I thought it might be worth throwing out to this thread too...

Whether or not you think finding someone through DDR is lame, most people usually look for common interests as part of building a special connection with someone. I'm sure we all have other activities we do that we find it cool to find someone who shares that same activity (i.e. sports, music, movies, etc).

It's definitely tough to meet other DDR players of the opposite sex if you are in the age group of 20-30, especially if you are out of college. And if you do find someone in that age group, they are usually taken by then.

IMO, it would be cool to meet a girl who was older around my age and played DDR like everyone else. I'd love to bust a maniac competition with her.

Hey. maybe DDRFREAK should have a dating/singles forum organized by city/state kind of thing. That could be really cool. I mean the board already has a marketplace to sell stuff, so why couldn't a DDRFREAK singles forum be added too? It can't be that tough. Anyone think that could be cool?

hmm, i met my boyfriend through ddr. like he was selling ddr games to me when i first talked to him online....but i ended up blocking him cuz i thought he was a dick. then like we met at a ddr gathering and i didnt pay much attention to him cuz i thought he was ugly and a loser. then months later, he saw my screenname on another message board and, noticing dat the locations matched, imed me again. yeah...ddr made me hate my boyfriend at the beginning, lol.

HI EVERYONE! E1.gif
Just wanted to say hi and wow! This was my first post, the beginning of this forum, and I NEVER figured it'd end up being 5 PAGES LONG! How COOL! Somehow I knew that many many people have meet their "others" just because of a game like DDR. E15.gif Well, good luck to all and their DDR others, maybe it'll all work out for the best! E4.gif

I sure wish I had a g/f that played ddr :sigh: ... and was azn, laugh.gif

But atleast one of them has happened, with the azn g/f.
I prefer azn gurls over white girls anytime, haha. They seem better and look better to me.

But I'd be real happy if I found a azn girl that played ddr, i've seen some, but not a whole lot, it's very rare around here in western mass, but by boston there's a bunch, just so far away though. And to fond one that freestyles!!! WOW, that would be like 1 in a 100, laugh.gif

Wellllllll, I didn't really feel like reading all 5 of theose pages so I just read the first and 5th one, but so far if I no one metioned it wouldn't girls like ddr guys that can freestyle good or dance good on ddr??? 'hint hint, me! haha
I've gotten a lot of girls to say real nice things to me, and i'm not trying to brag, must be my good looks and all E13.gif plus my ability to dance pretty good.

I find it very difficult to play DDR in the same arcade with a man...me, being someone from the middle of Iowa.....doesn't meet nice people playing DDR, I meet creepy men....ew.

I go some place with a DDR machine and there's always some creep checking me out...I always have a feeling someone is looking at my buttocks...or maybe not...I might be paranoid...

What I wonder is that is there are DDR guys checking me out...why don't they talk to me? I know I'm not bad at the game, there aren't very many girls who can play....that well on DDR.

Anyway...I think it would be fun to date someone who also plays DDR, I could compete with him and stuff and DDR just brings a lot more in common. Try dating some one who despises the game...it isn't fun at all.

Well if you read a lot of what is being said by the guys, most of them are really shy. I've noticed that about them. For the most part, all the guys that play DDR that I've really gotten to know was because I approached them and started talking. I say if you notice a guy around the machine, (unless you play doubles) invite him up to play with you. As you play, between songs ask him a bit about himself, starting with DDR info. "How long have you been playing?" is usually a good starter.

I'm not an expert on it all, this is just from my personal experience with all the people I've gotten to know.

Amen bro beerchug.gif !

Word of advice: DDR is not good for a first date unless you know for sure your parnter loves (not likes) DDR.

Sadly, did that....horrible regection.

Wow ... this is a pretty fascinating post (and surprisingly clean for such a loaded topic) ... enough to bring me out of board-posting hibernation for 6 months ...

I echo everyone who said it is crazy hard for folks in their 20s-30s (I'm 24) to explore this possibility ... locals at both places I go (Malibu - Redwood City / Riptide) are way younger. I've met plenty of nice people there, don't get me wrong. But the age difference is a killer. At Mailbu, either I'm playing aomngst a crowd of younger kids ... or extolling the game's virtues to adults/parents much older than me. All extremes ... nothing really in the middle, come to think of it.

My last ex thought the game was pretty childish. So I agree that not knowing whether the person likes it in the first place isn't the best variable. Even if you're good at it ... and I consider myself fairly experienced - 3 years - kind of bored of doing single-pad stuff, so I love doing heavy doubles routines.

Finally, if DDR is a common interest between two people, why can't it be a catalyst for further interaction? Maybe it's the "childish" aspect of having an arcade habit in common. Although looking at arguably more "adult" habits ... drinking yourself silly with liver-killing liquid ... smoking until your lungs blacken and shrivel ... trying to hit on anything in a skirt ... racing on an unmarked road for money ... maybe smashing arrows and dropping 50-80 calories in 5 minutes doesn't seem so immature after all ... :<)

p.s. ddr dating service indeed ... why not ... what site doesn't have a singles forum these days!
