*blink* Wow, this thread... is so insanely... trivial. -.- Heh, so back to the actual topic! I think we've made a decent point here...
DDR should not be used to pick up girls. *shrug* Easy as that. But, it is amusing when a guy does "meet" a girl via DDR.
Please, get over typing skills. -.- It gets old. Three or four years of seeing arguments based on how a person types... that's just wrong.

Would someone please enlighten me as to the point of posting in a thread simply to say how bad it is? If you don't like the thread, or if it "makes your eyes bleed," then why bother even reading it? No one is forcing you i hope  .
Personally I believe you can meet a girl doing just about anything that involves leaving your house. DDR certainly has a social aspect to it, and while video games may not necessarily impress girls, but it is also quite clear that DDR does draw crowds and impress some people. Some of those people are quite definiteley girls, and some of those girls are quite definiteley attractive and of the right age (for some of us at least). I would still go somewhere other than the arcade if I were looking for a girl, but stranger things have happened than someone meeting their girlfriend/wife or whatever through DDR.

Anyhoo, seriously, Shin here makes a good point. Plus it's more neat-o looking than smashing buttons and moving a joystick around.
Plus if any of these said chicks were to also play, there would be some sort of common ground to build a conversation on.

ParaPara is a lot easier and it's more girly, if you haven't noticed. The home version is entirely PiNK! Plus, it's not quite as active as DDR. Both of those games are easier, better looking, and so forth. It's just a little more on the feminine side... *shrug*

I think there's a little more comfort in the idea that the ladies don't have their chests being stared at due to bouncing as well...

here in Dallas, I've never seen any girls other than 14 year old Asian chicks playing, and this one time I saw this little 5 year old girl pass MAX300 light, not bad for a young girl.
I don't see why girls would mind the bouncy bouncy, if she was good, my friends and I (all horny males) would be staring at the screen transfixed. It would be only after she got off that we would stare at all that other stuff.
Unless of course, she was playing naked. My fantasy. |

Sure some of my friends appreciate my DDR skill, or my other skills, but when the sex you are attracted too doesn't even give a damn, or talk to you, it all feels pointless. Someday maybe I will find a match for me, but right now, I can only do things for myself. Nobody else cares. |

I know how ya feel about that though. It's not easy meeting or talking to people.......
It's deffinately hard talking to a female that sees you playing a game and you're sweating like a pig in a butcher factory ready to be sliced, diced and turned in to bacon in a matter secs........ 
...but anyways as I was saying. It's hard because you're explaining the concept of the game and they'll look at you like "Damn the way you talk it sounds so easy but my GOD, I don't want to play and sweat like you are........ewww, that's just nasty!"
Usually after a moment like that they just either watch you play one or two songs then go away.
Either way it seems pointless looking for a relationship thru a video game........kinda kills the whole "dating enigma" in itself.

When I saw this thread, the first thing I though was ' Am I the only person that gets a little sweaty sometimes when playing DDR?'
Heh, I guess if you can avoid or get past that, you could meet someone at an arcade. If most of you posting with concerns regarding meeting girls are under 18, don't worry about meeting girls or guys. You'll have plenty of time to get hooked up later. In other words - DON'T TRY to hook up. When you start treating everyone the same, that's when things start to work out for you. It's worked great for me... I treat my friends and women I like the same way, and it all falls together in the end.
I guess I'm a lucky bastard - my girlfriend got me into DDR, she loves computers, cars, AND movies and anime.
