ok, let's read this carefully: 65 regular songs and 25 hidden THEMES. Themes could be anything. They could be Oni courses, exrta songs, ONI steps available in normal game mode, or a combination of the previously mentioned. Theme doesnt neccesarily mean song. Of course, if it does, that would be pretty sweet. |
Oh no. It looks like IGN screwed up. Here's the full first paragraph:
IGN wrote: | August 08, 2003 - Konami of America threw off a veil of secrecy today when it revealed a partial list of official "sing-alongs" for its upcoming sequel DDRMAX2. With more that 65 regular songs and 25 hidden themes available once the game is finished, K-Rev is looking to returning fans the most for their money. |
They've seriously crossed their 'K-Rev' with their 'D-Rev' here. The words "sing-alongs" and "themes" sound like K-Rev terminology to me. We already know that 65 songs is way too much for MAX2 to have on its default list because we know what MAX2's default list is. Konami removed that veil of secrecy yesterday. Sorry, but this good news looks like it was meant for KR. That final line that says "K-Rev is looking to returning fans the most for their money" is obviously wrong since K-Rev is a brand new game. ( And thats one horribly worded sentence might I add ) |

The songlist is amazing, thank you Konami for not putting any of that lame J-pop poopy from extreme on there, although I would have liked to have seen some more taka and outphase stuff. I couldn't have picked the licensed songs from MAX and MAX2 any better. The new songs sound pretty damn interesting too. Guess I'll buy this one after all. |

i think this song list is good , damn good. only songs that i hope and or wish that would be on it are look at us (which i think should be on here seeing how popular it is in the us) , justify my love, and stay. |

The only thing I can realistically complain about, the ONLY non-Extreme song I'm still holding out hope for, is ever snow, and even THEN we've got Conga Feeling, Twilight Zone, good LORD JUST LOOK AT THE SONGLIST!!!
I'm so putting a pre-order in for this. I've been holding off, but no longer. |

Hello? Am I the Only One Who Noticed This?
They don't have the two most important songs of DDRMAX2, Kakumei and MAXX Unlimited.
If anyone redoes the song list remember to put in MAXX Unlimited and Kakumei. Because for sure they should have the two secret songs, right? And how can they not notice that? |

It's because the list that was released is probably the list of songs that are available when you start playing the game - there seems to be very little chance that Maxx Unlimited and Kakumei wouldn't be on the game. _________________

I'm happy to see a lot of the new "exclusives". One to be anti x-box, and a big two becuase the biggest compliant I get from new players is, "if they had some more songs that I knew then it would be easier for me to get into." I'm also happy to see an earlier release date then what gamestop has advertised. But whatever I'll get it when I get it. _________________

Why are (most) you of people complianing?
So Deep alone is good enough, but throw in Ghosts, LTR', The Whistle Song, Drifting Away, Conga Feeling and Let's Groove and you have a drool-worthy list IMO.
I'm cool with the repeats (except for Silent Hill), because they aren't going to take away from the mix in any way.
I getting this w/o a doubt.
(And if oni dosen't make the cut, I'll shoot myself.) _________________

So deep is good, ghosts is mediocre, I don't like LTR, whistle song is tolerable, I hate drifting away, conga feeling, and groove.
This is not good reason for me to shell out $50. I do not want a cd full of suckiness |

Conga Feeling! YES! now add Bye bye baby balloon, moonlight shadow and movin on and I'llnever have to leave my house again. |

Regarding music videos in DDRMAX 2 USA, the information is not a rumor and it is not unconfirmed. In fact, This information has been on DDRSPOT.COM for nearly 72 hours. You can also view the box art and the official Konami of America Inc. press release for MAX 2 US at the page. Here is the link for those who are interested:
http://www.ddrspot.com/viewArticle.asp?article=21
As for people who are complaining about the mix, I really think you're missing the boat. Be glad that we get new mixes with exclusive music, folks. If you're so hell bent on playing songs that are on the Japanese mixes, why don't you just chip your PS2 or buy a jPS2? _________________

"Fans can also link DDRMAX2 with Dance Dance Revolution KONAMIX; and DDRMAX Dance Dance Revolution; to access additional features"
Perhaps this means that they will leave out Oni for MAX2 and allow you to link it with MAX, allowing you to access Oni that way. _________________

Only reason I'm excited? Dream a Dream and Tsugaru. Dream a Dream because it was the first song I ever, ever played at home. Tsugaru because I still can't AA it and some extra practice would be nice. Other than that, I don't know/don't like the rest of the songs. But maybe (hopefully) I'll be surprised when I buy it, which I will no matter what the songs are. _________________
