Then when I wanted to choose a song, he didnt want to play anything that wasnt a 1 footer. and I wanted to play bag on heavy x3 speed, grrr, then I let him pick since he didnt like the lvl. he chose butterfly then he chose some crappy naoki songs. again, dam my kindness... |

I really don't care about meeting girls at an arcade. I usually just play and they say a comment, and I start a conversation with them....or I just say something negative just to get them mad at me. |

so is he predicting the song you're gonna pick or is he saying that you might fail the song? j/k
i don't mind people who shadow with me as long as i don't smell their body odor...
and keeping on topic...girls sometimes cause me to fail or mess up badly during a song...i don't play ddr to impress girls...it's just a nice conversation starter with them _________________

Girls that do good on DDR in my place: yes
Said girls those I'd want to go out with: nope
Said girls who are of stereotypical groups: one possible gothic looking person, but that's it
Chances of meeting girls that play DDR in Raleigh, NC when I go up there: no clue yet; haven't been to the malls |

I can relate. One time a hot girl was playing motor raid, I knew what arrows was coming up so I looked over, 3 steps later, my mind was blank and I started goofing up by just stepping on the metal parts next to the pads. I didn't look again because the girl was only hot in the corner of my eye, from a straight on point of view, not really. _________________

I glace behind me, and there is like a group of 8-10 hot college chicks peeking around the corner. ANd of coarse im about to die, but I do LoM anyway, after I beat it, I turn around and they were gone |

Ive noticed that playin doubles really attracts a crowd, as well as spining ALL of BreAk Down. But anyways a crew of 78 cheerleaders were in my arcade last nite, me and mike were like , d00D!!!
it was 1023's off the chart
the only bad part was their was this kid (an obvious n00b) thinkin he was the shyt. now some direct quotes from him
"Yeah Im so good at this song, i can get an A on it" (Xenon) he failed the second it hit chaos notes
"Well i need to conserve my energy for the harder songs" (he picks Senorita, failed)
"Yes i can play twice in a row"
But in the end i was pickin up honeys like no 2morrow.

Number of girls who have come up to me, telling me I'm really good: 17
Number of those girls who play DDR themselves: 8 or 9
Number of those girls I asked to play with me and the accepted: 6
Number of phone numbers I got from the first 3 categories combined: 3
My most interesting story to come from this resides in the time frame lieing within the past couple of weeks. Somerdale Cinemark 16 in NJ. I'm there EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT to Play/Freestyle in front of the general public.
I'm actually the ONLY one playing until these four girls show up and start watching me. I had JUST started my game and had spotted them out of the corner of my eye. So I figure..."Cute girls!" Go crazy!!!!
I open With "My Summer Love" and for the 1st time EVER I finally combo the 16th runs. I hear them say "Wow!"/"He's Good!"
Second I shuffle on Over to "Breakdown!" and breeze through that with minimal problems.
Lastly, (Like you didn't see this one coming) I select "bag"...no mods. When the arrows start to appear the audience (and the girls) were all like "Oh My goodness!" (and like phrases) "How is he doing that?"
I clear bag with my best score ever, 3 goods!!!!! The clearing of bag initiated applause, so I took a bow and asked the people closest to the machine if anyone was waiting for a turn.
Lo and behold the four girls (Who were now quite impressed) were waiting for a turn. So two of them go up while another one of them approach me. She was all like "You're really good" *Swoon*
"Thank you very much!" I say to her.
We introduce ourselves (She introduced first, so I was like... Her name is Robin) And she begins talking to me..."I have this at home. But I'm not THAT good" she says to me.
"Which mix?"
"Konamix"
(We talk about Konamix for a bit)
Soon enough, she asks me if I'm going up again. And I say, "After you two go."
Robin says "Oh, she doesn't play." referring to her other friend. And then she says something that really caught me off guard because it sounded really funny...
"If you want to, you can do it with me!"
Reamaining as stoic as feasibly possible, I smile and accept her offer, also agreeing to let her pick all the music. She picks Dynamite Rave first, so I revert back to Standard. And we do that OK.
Then, her friends are all like "Do the Orion thing!"
This catches my ear and I say, "Orion thing?"
She looked back at her friends, slightly embarassed insinuating a "NO!"
Her friends say "Come on, it's funny!"
While Robin and her friends quibble, I switch to "Orion.78 Ameuro Mix"
"I've got an Orion thing of my own..." I say to her.
"You freestyle?"
"Of course!"
"This song?"
"It was my first routine actually." (For those of you here who have seen my Orion routine...you know what I'm talking about....)
Robin puts it on Light, as do I. We both freestyled the whole thing. I had to dumb mine down a bit so I wouldn't hit her by accident.
Crowd goes wild!
Last we did "Dead End" which I put on heavy to try it out, but failed miserably. She did it on standard, so we technically passed...
After the game, she and her friends' movie was going to start soon. So she says to me, "Hey, next time you're gonna come up here give me a call if you want me to come with you. Maybe you can show me some things and help me out."
(We exchange numbers)
We've met back there a few times. And we got to know a little more about each other.
But alas, there is a barrier to "dating" her that is not so easily crossed...
She's only 15...I'm 20...I don't know if this deters her, but it does deter me. I am STRICTLY opposed to under 18 girls dating 20+ aged men. It makes me feel like a dirty old man.
But it's still a good story. And we're remaining friends.... _________________

It's not so cool to go play ddr just to pick up girls, you should go to have fun and hang out with other ddrers. But hey if you do manage to meet someone cool while playing ddr then why not just go with the flow? But staying on topic. No I haven't made a girlfriend by playing DDR. I did manage to attract 2 once when I went to the Pizza Planet in MGM but besides that not much. I should start talking to the people I DDR with though... _________________

I think my reply from the Dating DDR Guys thread fits well here:
There's a few girls around here that play DDR. They're all pretty nice, but I don't know about dating them solely because we both play DDR, because we probably wouldn't have much else in common. If I got to know them pretty well though, I might.

All IMHO:
Playing DDR and hoping/trying to meet girls: Okay
Playing DDR just to meet girls: Dumb
Liking to play DDR with a girl: Okay
Liking a girl because she is good at DDR: Stupid
|
That sum's it up pretty well. Just happening to meet a girl because she plays DDR and you do to is fine, but playing just to meet girls? That's more sad than anything... GO CLUBBING! ;o |

I think I know who you're talking about. I hated that kid. He shadowed me on EVERY song, without asking, including when I was going for a AAA on Keep on Movin'. He was completely off beat and showed off doing spins second pad, not hitting any of the steps, and he was making up 16th steps to the songs, all of which were off beat. My great count on songs doubled because of him. If he's at Beaches today, I'm kicking him off the pad the second he shadows. |
