While we're on the time question, how long did it take everyone to start passing 7 star songs?
I've been playing since Monday, and I've passed about 2/3 of the 5 star songs on 6th Style L7 and all but three or four 4 star songs. There seems to be a BIG jump between 5 and 6 stars, though, and an even bigger jump between 6 and 7 stars. I've been playing for about an hour and a half a day...when do you think I'd start getting in 7 stars? I'm a difficulty whore, but whatever. _________________

Here's a funny story. Actually it's two stories in one:
--Last year in my Japanese class, we had a Christmas party. I brought in DDR and someone else brought in IIDX 6th Style. I'd heard about IIDX and I wanted to play it very bad. So I began to play it and the guy said I should start on Beginner mode. I picked the first song, it was one I had heard of like I Was the One. So I played it and I'm like, "holy crap this is hard." So then someone else came over and wanted to play, but I'm like, "No, I have to beat this first." So then three people came over and we decided to all play at the same time on one controller. We were able to pass a bunch of three star songs. Then they left and the period bell rang, but I didn't want to leave. So I asked the teacher for a pass, and got to stay. Then the next hour was over, and I got another pass. Then that continued until school was over. An that's how I was introduced to IIDX. _________________

My Japanese classes both in High School and College have always sucked. In HS I had to sit in a room alone and watch a broadcasted class on TV... and in College the teachers are just too busy to do anything fun. Blah. You are lucky.
On a lighter note, I finally AAA'd Holic L7 with a full combo(on random)... and I also AAA'd Presto on L7... but that song is retarded. =X
Some cool AAA's I upped were:
Comment te dire Adieu L7
343 Just Greats
44 Greats
0 goods
0 bad
1 poor(stupid finger slipped and hit an extra note).
Perfect clear, 197,000 points; 730 expoints.
Sync L7
454 Just Greats
95 Greats
0 goods
0 bad
0 poor
Perfect clear. 1003 expoints. yay, I broke 1000 on it finally. =D
Stupid IIDX. I need to destroy the rest of L7... that pushes me up above 30 AAA's on 6th styles L7. X_x I need to get half of L7 AAA'd... or I'll die.

I beat Era, 250bpm, and Presto after somewhere around two weeks.
Quote: | 1. About half of my keys stick. How do I fix that?
2. I'm gonna start trying to AA some songs. What are some goodones to try on L7? |
1. Open your controller up and clean it. Also, put little circles of cardboard in between the rubber things and the keys. It helps a lot.
2. The Orange Lounge song. It'll be a cold day in hell when I can remember it's title. O.o |

Depends on how often you play. I started in September and didn't use speed mods. I didn't get very far with that (I could pass a few 5s on L7), and pretty much quit until December when Oogami introduced me to high speed. It got a lot better from there on.. maybe took me 1 or 1 1/2 months from then to pass a 7 (Route 80s), probably could've done it sooner too. _________________

Ehhh... it was somewhere like 4 or 5 hours into first playing where I passed my first 7 star. Forgot what it was... |

Damn it, I didn't get play today! Grr....
I probably should've asked this earlier, but how do you get AA's and AAA's? _________________

Dude, I haven't played for like 2 weeks (traveling: state college and california right now) but you don't see me using emoticons all over the place.
Just work on accuracy, you'll eventually get up to the point where you can get AA and AAA scores. For accuracy, I went back to easier songs and concentrated on how to get flashing greats. When to hit on fast/slow songs, when to realize if I'm going too soon or late then adjust to the proper speed, etc. Then you can probably just go back to the harder songs and apply the timing structures that you learned, and voila: a AA. _________________

I can no longer stand playing. Every time I play, one of these things happen:
- More Goods than any other note
- More Just Greats than any other note, with Goods trailing behind
- More Greats than Just Greats
It has come to my attention that my scores will never improve much further. The highest score I have ever earned on a song is 170,000~ points on PARANOiA MAX [L7] with a AA, and most of my other scores are in the 120,000-145,000 range, usually yielding me only a D, C, or a B. AAA's do not exist in my mind. Watch. Eventually you'll see lots of 6-year-olds with no sense of rhythm passing Colors (radio) [7] in just 2-3 months. |

How exactly are gallery images and (more importantly) videos in 6th Style unlocked? I went through the first 14 videos in five or six days but it's been about four since then. What do I have to do to unlock #15?
Also: got my first AA, and passed all the 4 stars (Something Wonderful was the last one). 8 songs left to go on Light7. _________________

To get the 15th Tatsujin movie you have to beat every song on either Light 7 or 7 Key.
Most gallery images have specific unlocking methods (beat an Original song (orange) with 100%, AAA Jelly Kiss, beat a Day Expert Course with 100%, etc.)
Or there's also the easy way:
Go into arcade mode and play the following songs IN ORDER:
Yesterday, A New Morning, Night of Fire
Get a high score and enter your name as "2DX6" then let the ENTIRE CREDITS SEQUENCE ROLL (I messed this up the first time I tried this) it should say "COMPLETE" or something like that afterwards. |

To elaborate on this a little more, you don't need to beat the day specific courses with 100% for the images. You can play any expert course (on any difficulty) and if you finish with 100%, you'll get that day's corresponding gallery image. I just played my Platinum course every day for a week and got the day pics that way. |
You're half right. You can't get the pictures by 100%ing ANY expert course, but you can also get them by 100% a Ranking course. |

I think passing songs at home is alot easier but the arcade is way better for PA. Ex. at home the best I can do on QQQ is a A but at the arcade I AA it with a full combo sometimes. and I AA songs like jive into the night fantasy etc. The only problem at the arcade is the turntable is further away and more elevated so sometimes when I pinky scratch I just hit my finger into the side but im learning. _________________

Neither. I'm on the verse of quitting because of reverse improvement. My controller at home moves around a lot, and my scores at the arcade are so shiitty it's a federal offense, even to the worst of IIDX players. |
