Is it just me or are DDR players some of the nicest people in any fandom?
At the place where I play (Knoebels Grove in PA) people are so damn obnoxious and rude, it's full of white trash ...but when I make my way over to the DDR machine, the whole attitide just changes. Every DDR player I've ever met has been very friendly...Everyone who is better than be has helped me out, and I've tried my best to help out those not as good as me. Our small group of about 15 people has some VERY memorable moments (some VERY funny) , and there are never fights among us. You can always have an educated discussion with other players... Even when I travel to other DDR locations, people are always friendly and welcoming.
Anyone else feel the same way? _________________

I have met so many nice people that play, however, I've also seen a lot of really rude people. Due to being a gilr, I'm not usually the target of the attitude, but my friends generally are. _________________

I havent really met an assholes yet that play DDR. I mean people that PLAY ddr not the newbs that try once and get pissed and mock it. Only real people that I dont like are the ones that think there better then everyone and the people that stomp on the machine, that pisses me off and those people become immediate idiots in my book. |

Ehh.. it depends. I notice that the bigger the playing crowd is around any machine, including DDR, the less friendly everyone is. _________________

First of all, telebuffer, great smilies!
Anyways, usually, I strike up a conversation with people playing DDR. I recently went of a family vacation to Rhode Island, and all but 3 of the people I met were great! This one guy, who thought he was the best ever, was putting me down, so I told him to "go to F***ing Hell!" The other 2, I was playing one day at the mall, and I decided to try something new on Heavy, failed it, and this guy comes up and does the same song on Heavy, just to be a jerk. His female friend said that was mean, I agreed with an extra bad word and then she takes her turn, smirks at me when she passes all her songs on Heavy, so I left. I saw her later though when her mom arrived and you know, she was the SWEETEST girl ever. You know what I'm saying, the one who can do no wrong.
But! In my area, whenever I see people playing and we talk, we usually exchange sn's for AIM, and we hang out to play DDR. _________________

Anyways, seriously, alotta times when i come somewhere new noone really talks to me, so basically i have to start the conversation (there's nothing wrong with that). After that, its usually pretty cool, however, i'm a and noone's givin me tips b4 |
The problem is that it's awkward trying to give tips to strangers. I personally can't do it, and haven't really seen anybody give tips. But my tip to you is find a group of people who play ddr, and ask them from time to time what techniques they do. You'll find out as I did, that they have some good insight on these types of things. _________________

In general, the people around here are great. There's one guy who is a big jerk, harasses everyone, and thinks he's God's gift to the DDR community. There's another guy who is nice from time to time, but occasionally he acts like a jerk, too. Overall, though, we have a good group of people. _________________

Hmmmmmm.....DDR players being the nicest people? That's probably the biggest amount of Bull CRAP I've heard today. You should come down here to the "elitist" community _________________

You know, DDR players are generally okay, but I've seen that fighting game fans are actually pretty cool. They generally like to be vulgar, but they're still pretty tight.
Edit: You wanna see assy, though? Check out the DDRManiaX iRC channel. The forums are great, but the chat? Gahh... _________________
