Got my copy on the 3rd, but I really cant play it much. Any my home controllers 1 button is starting to mess up. :(

Passed some fairly hard stuff (for me), Love Love Sugar, and I was 1 bar off of 100sec cooking battle. I really need an ASC.

How far are you guys on Sugoroku de Hachi? (the unlock system)? I'm still on my second time around. Eh, gonna play some more tonight though.

WOW! I just read the WHOLE thread just in the last hour. I am soooooo going to get the Pop'N Music Arcade style Controller. I guess the only place to get them is on ebay or that Rinkya place.

I dunno how the hell you guys have the money for all this stuff, but whatever, I'm making a pact with myself that I WILL get Pop'N Music 8 and a PnM arcade style controller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I MUST!!!!!!!!

Well, buying the ASC broke me for a good month or so, but it was definitely worth it. Its easily made Pop'n Music my favorite time killer in the house. Even when I get another full time job, I'll be able to be secure in knowing that I have an infinitely fun game (that I'll NEVER master).

Well I don't even have a job, or a car, and I plan on getting a car first. So it is going to be forever until I get one of these. Does anyone know if they stop making/selling them at some point (or have they already stopped making them?). I was also curious about how much it is for a ps2 mod chip, that mods both psone and ps2 functions.

But the reason I want pop'n music, is because after beating the four hardest songs in ddr, I feel like it is time to move onto another bemani game (i meen i would never quit ddr, but just so i have something else for a challenge). It sounds like PnM is much harder than any of the othe bemani games (harder to master) and I've heard probably over 80 PnM songs (mostly from PnM 5,8,9) and liked just about every single one of the songs.

This is one of those games I can see myself busting out 10 years from now and still having fun with it E4.gif

EDIT: And I'm thinking about getting Pop'N Music 7 or 8, the one I get will be whatever one has Samurai Syndrome. Assuming either of them has it. Could someone tell me if it's on either of those?

I fucking hate Himeya. Fuck Himeya and fuck the Postal Service for taking this long.

Nobody ever order from Himeya. Or at least don't get the cheap shit STANDARD POSTAL SERVICE delivery on your order.

Fucking dumbshits.

Hope you're all having fun with your 8!

do not listen to this man tongue.gif. In my experience, himeya offers better service than ANY other online importer, and they work with the customer's alot more closely. In the case of Pop'n Music 8, I had e-mailed the owner of the company to get my address changed and he informed me that there was a shippment problem with konami AT LEAST with the Konamistyle preorders (which is what I got) and that they wouldn't have them in stock until the 17th. It's not thier fault it's taking so long.

Also, name one other "big" online importer that carries ALL of the Bemani konamistyle preorders now.

I still love NCS, 'cause they hooked me up with Seiken Densetsu 3 back in the dizay.

But Himeya did give me my Pop'n Controller, so they rock too. NCS just has a better website. E7.gif

I actually read through the thread ( E15.gif ) and I determined that if you're playing on the PSX, you should get 6 if you're looking for the one that's most import friendly, but the PS2 games are even better. I personally have found that 7 is very easy to pick up as a begginer, and that it's very easy to navigate. My 8 should be here in a couple of days, too, so I'm looking foward to that.

so it seems that sugoroku de 8 doesn't unlock everything. after finishing it, u should have all the songs, all the courses, and a few cg picks. it doesn't seem to unlock any movies. been around 4 times, but will go around once more just to make sure (who knows, the percentage of completion could go over 100%, but i doubt it). how do people get through sugoroku de 8 without being able to read kana and a few kanji..?

the manual hints that you can unlock cgs and movies by playing challenge mode... but i don't know what the actual requirements are for unlocking.. it just appears to be random to me.

---

yeah, i've only been playing PM for like 10 days, but is it just me or is it just totally freakin' hard. the general opinion i've heard from people is that it's an easy alternative to iidx etc. but i guess those people played with pop'n controllers, which much make things so much easier... i believe ASC is the only way to be true to the game..

In Pop'n 7 you unlocked the CG's and Movies by getting certain scores in challenge mode.

E.G. 73 points = CG.
72 points = movie
(I just made up the figures above, I can't remember the exact numbers)

There's usually a chart on the official home version Pop'n website that lists what you will get if you get a certain amount of points. It doesn't look like they've updated the site and included it yet, we'll probably have to wait a little bit. You can keep checking the official Pop'n Music 8 CS website until they post the chart.

Is himeya supposed to be such a huge rip off. The AS Popn controller is about $264.78 if i were to pay in yen and its 400 dollars if i pay in american currency.

After finally unlocking Trauma Punk, I can honestly say that song is EXTREMELY fun to play. Well, that and Curry. But I really wish I could pass TP on EX...that would be quite the accomplishment...of FUN!

Time for hardcore Pop'n training.
