That's the thing, there ARE no speed mods I have no idea what's wrong, and I can't get my GCA Extractor to work, so BeatmaniaDX is out of the question. _________________

Mattman, to use DTXmania with your PSX DM pad you'll have to get Joy2Key and map the gamepad buttons to the keys used by DTXmania. Or you can just get one of the other sims (BandJam, Drum2Play,etc). |

Thought I should share this link, although it will only work if you are a member, and for some wacky reason the sign up confirmation doesn't work. http://207.44.154.83/~musicgamer.com/ It is that music gamer site everyone is talking about. |

you have to set your desktop to 16 bit color(rightclick on desktop - properties - settings) to run in windowed mode with the right colors

The only thing I don't like is the insanely long load time for each song... |
if you convert all the mp3's to wav's...it'll only take a second or two to load |
Haven't checked this thread for awhile...
Thanks for the advice. I'll definately try converting my music to .wav format. _________________

Breaking news!!!!!!!
I was just surfing for random bemaniadx info and whatnot when I discovered a very interesting page.
Remember how when you go into the 'play' option menu, how many blank spaces there are before the 'exit' option?
Well there's a reason for that:
http://www10.plala.or.jp/akstnk/dx_sec.html had these codes posted:
(to enable these codes, edit the bmdx.ini file so that count = 1000 or more):
The following codes are typed at the title screen, and enabled in the 'Play' option menu:
Training Attack: TRATT - Not sure what this does
Auto Expert: EXPAUTO - Not sure here either let me get back to you
Secret Music: GEOFRONT - Those who remember my other FAQ should know this song, now you can access it no problem!
Credits: MAKER - nothing special really, just shows the credits.
This site must have been around for ages but I finally figured out what all that stuff is

If you play the songs on BMDX without the music files, then the songs load in less than a second...but then you have no music. _________________

Downloaded BM98.......some probs....
NOTHING WORKS. I press Enter, and it just acts as another up arrow. I can't even get into the options menu. There's NO enter button on the keyboard - I've tried every button.
So I went to the readme.....um...it's not in English. Where can I get an ENGLISH version of this sim? _________________

You have to use the S, D, Z, X, and C buttons. I think any of them will act as an enter button but I use Z.
Um, I know I'm gonna be flogged for this since it's probably buried in this thread somewhere (I'm too lazy to search for it), but how do you get the GCA extractor to work? I think I downloaded the right things but everything is just displayed in question marks so I can't even use my crude Japanese reading skills to navigate. Thanks for the help. _________________

I have a few questions. While looking through the thread (just browsing, not thoroughly reading) I found out that there are simulators for keyboardmania for download, and also other bemani simulators. Can I request that the first page of the thread (the one listing the simulators) be updated with the other downloads?
1; do the keyboardmania sims work with an actual piano-keyboard
2; If so, how.. exactly?
3; while looking through Beatmania simulators, I have yet to find a goodone. Is there one that works like Stepmania.. as you can select the difficulties? (I've never played reaBM or IIDX before.. so I dunno if that's an actual feature in the game)
4; Is there a keyboardmania sim that would work good, like the BM sim for question three. |

I've never had a problem with GCA, despite the lack of English. Its pretty easy to figure out just what to do. _________________

Can't find a 9th style machine near you??
I have the next best thing:
http://nothing.sh/~manbow/skinz/skinz.cgi
Scope out the first picture there.
That's right, its a IIDX 9th Style skin for bemaniaDX
Obviously, it's not fully featured with a combo/bpm counter since those features weren't programmed into bmdx to begin with, it's kinda silly to expect those features from a simple skin, now isn't it? (although it does look like it has some hacked in bpm counter that actually works, hard to tell what makes it work...)
Keep in mind that it is in GCA format, so you should probably google for a gca extractor; there's at least one I have seen that does drag-n-drop, then just stick the resulting files into your /skins directory...

Okay, I decided to download and host the file myself, its even in .zip format so you won't need to mess with GCA files:
http://www.geocities.com/drktetsuya/9th.zip
hopefully it'll hold up
