As do Shiritori, Boyfriend, Seiron, all four Classic Parties, Fireball, Children's Sketchbook, Magical Jet Tour, and the piles of classics from 1st through 5th Mix.

DM 5th Mix is the best, and GF 6th is a very close 2nd.

Yesterday, a new arcade opened in Austin, TX, and they have Percussion Freaks 3rd Mix (the first Drummania in the Austin area). Today, they are already missing one of the drumsticks. Not only is it bring-your-own-drumsticks, but it's also bring-your-own-stool. The chairs from the dining area are okay, though, if you don't mind people looking at you as you carry a chair across a crowded arcade.

Suffice it to say, spending $1 to play Def Leppard style was extremely amusing but not something I want to do on a regular basis.

But hey, the bass pedal actually works.

Well, they certainly redo the guitar and percussion parts, at least. :)

I don't use a stool to play DM. I just stand. $1.00 is a lot for DM. Our's is $.50 for 4 songs.

I can almost pass Centaur. I know that might not be awsome, but since all I have is a 3rd mix right now, it's pretty good, I think. Why do you guys need to sit down? Is it just so the bass pedal is easier to do, or what?

Yeah, my legs get sore as hell trying to stand up and work the pedal. The drum pads aren't a real problem, though.

Well, I had a pretty good day of Drummania today. I FCed Stop Spinning Me in Cirlces expert.

I also decided to try real again, and all I have to say is Depend on Me is the strangest song ever. E11.gif For some reason, I couldn't get the hi-hat on beat at all. I always got goods or poors no matter what I did. The toms were fun, but strange. I also found out The Adventures is a fun song, except it gave me a really bad blister because the cymbal was so fast.

I wish they would have put the songs that only have Real difficulties on Expert Real, too, or just used let us switch difficulties like they do on the other mixes.

Oh well.

Yeah, if they ever release GF5/DM4 for PS2, then we'll be able to switch difficulties freely. That will be nice.

There are certain songs that aren't available in a particular difficulty. Centaur, for example, is an Extreme-only song; same goes for classic Depend on Me (they changed it to Extreme when 4th came along). Good Times is Basic-only, Waza and Herring Roe have no Basic versions, and Across the Nightmare and Ultimate Power have no Advanced versions. Finally, Eyes of Kids has no Extreme version though it used to have one way back in 1st.....

Whoa, they axed the Expert Real version of Eyes of Kids? That stinks. That version is actually pretty fun to play, despite the incredible brevity. Or did they possible dump the Normal version, then shift the Real and Expert Real versions downward? That wouldn't surprise me, seeing as Depend on Me got "promoted," so to speak.

Yes, that's what I mean. Just put the Real version of the song on Expert Real as well, so you can play it without being forced to play other Real songs.

No, they really got rid of EoK's Extreme version after 1st. I suppose it's because it's a very short (barely a minute!) beginner song...

While we're talking about 1st songs, I still wonder why Good Times is Basic-only. I'm hearing a lot more drums than I'm actually playing; I wanna play it all, dammit!

BTW, what's the name of that song in 7th? The one whose title is untranslated (more clues: the title's got a heart on each side, and the vid's all cute and sugary (girl riding on heart, pandas, etc.))...

You can, actually, if you have the home version of 1st Mix. That version has an editor in it, so you can load up a song, look for all the automatic drum hits that make up the "background," and make them all manual. Depend on Me gets almost as hard as Daydream when you do this, and a few others just get completely ridiculous, too.

I just spent far too much time with WWWJDIC looking up Kanji by radicals, and it seems to be pronounced Momoirokataoroi, though I can't figure out what that means.

momo (peach tree)
iro (color)
kata (one-sided, leaf, sheet)
oro (idea)
i

I'd put the Kanji in here too, but PHPBB just dumps Unicode characters. But those are just the 5 characters in the title from left to right.

Momoirokataomoi is "pink crush," (or pink one-sided love) according to one of my Japanese friends...

It's a fun song.

What's up with cachaca? I'm playing non-drum instruments on drums for most of the time; emphasis on BeatMania with drumsticks! E10.gif

Do any of you know how the e-Amusement system works in GF9 and DM8 and it's all Japanese text?

Songs I hate because I still can't pass them: Cosmic Cowgirl, Mondo Street, Helpless, Depend on Me. I don't know why I can't pass the last three as they aren't hard at all; I think I must be retarted... mainly for my lack of skill in passing Helpless. Cosmic Cowgirl has too random of snare parts for me to understand it.

I <3 Stop Spinning Me in Cirlces. The bass works really well with the bass guitar. <3 <3

Aren't you playing Steel Drums in Cachaca? So, I mean, its accurate enough, right?

I should try playing Stop Spinning Me in Circles next time I hit DM8th mix...I like the song but up til now I've feared my skills were not enough-but I'll try it out next time.

SSMIC is an awsome song, but it's fairly hard. It isn't hard once you figure it out, but getting down the bass and snare parts is a bit hard. The song also speeds up. It's mainly the beginning and ending of the song that will most likely give you trouble.
