I'm sorry, I hate almost all of TM4 so far. Tank! is a GREAT song, and mad fun to do on DWI, but horrible to dance to. I play ti alot, jsut never on the pad.My personal favorite is More & More. Great trance song, steps are unbelievable and flow PERFECTLY. I spent a good 45 straight minutes doing this song on my pad, its just great. Major major props to whoever made it.

Also, I think whoever made Angle Dance shoudl be taken outside and shot. What the hell? a) bad, bad song. b) horrible, horrible steps c) wasn't there a rule on 2:30? You, sir, went WAY over, and it wouldn't be as bad if there was ANY variety in the song at ALL. There isn't though. It's the same 4-5 seconds repeated in a loop 100 billion times (rounding down to the nearest hundred billion). seriously, next time you thik of entering tm4, don't.

Edit: Tank is number 2 for me, and I never knew it was an anime song, but its gotta be remixed though, right? I hear james bond, cowboybebop, and "happy people stompin to my beat" in it, thats gotta be remixed in there. Also, Phrek, you made Tank! ? Very nice job. NY represent.

Well, my Votes went like this...

1) More and More
2) Tank
3) Chikara

Most of the songs there didn't appeal to me at all and the steps just seemed to be all 1/8th note runs. "Angle Dance" was awful, absolutely hate it, "The cheat's lightswitch rave" was dreadful, it looks as though the steps only took 5 minutes to make and the background just involved goinf to homestarrunner and print screening and "Catch you, Catch me" makes my ears hurt when i listen to it, is the singer trying to sing badly during the chorus?

The only songs i considered at all playable were More and more, Tank, 100sec Kitchen battle, Chikara, Billy Crocodile, Dracula medley, Beach visions and Tears in heaven.

Yes, there was a rule against 2:30. So, why didn't we disqualify it? Because it met the time limit. Seriously, before you go insulting an entry, at least get all of your points straight.

Angle Dance did feel like it was too long, but I didn't think the steps were bad. The music made me hurt. A lot.

It felt longer cause the song is so repetitive.

More and More felt long for the same reason, but at least the steps were good.

The only song that accually hurts to listen to is that painful crappy Mario Mix.

Intelligent Dance Music sucks.

It's BaldOne here. I've decided to do a little award-type thing for each bracket. Why? Because I can, so ha! Anyways, here it is:

Biggest Surprise: Ultimate Cheeseburger
Joke entry or not, this one's the biggest surprise of Bracket 1. Combining a catchy song with (gasp) good, on-beat, FUN steps, UCB seems to be a lock for the finals.

Biggest Letdown: The Lightswitch Rave
Well, at least he told us it was bad...

Most Overrated .dwi: Ultimate Cheeseburger
Is it good? Yes. Is it top 6? ...Probably. Top 3? ...I don't think so. Number 1? Definately not. No offense to BG_Hojo72, but this should not be the bracket's #1 song.

Most Underrated .dwi: Around The World
This one was tough to pick because there's plenty of buzz surrounding several songs, but I feel this should be put up there with them. Damian Yarrek took a not-too-DDR-friendly song with a BPM of less than 100 and made great steps for it - quite a challenge indeed.

Most Ignored .dwi: Travelling
I've yet to see this song mentioned on ANY of the TournaMix forums without every other song in the group being mentioned.

Best .dwi You Didn't Want to Play: What A Feelin' (DJ Doo Remix)
For some reason, 80s girly pop does not have a massive audience with DWI players. Get past that, though, and you get the reward a well-executed .dwi in What A Feelin'.

Most Needed Speed Adjustment: Akumajo Dracula MEDLEY
While most songs double when they shouldn't, this .dwi kept its true BPM. The only problem with that was that the song was SCREAMING double. Unlike Motor Pac City, this one felt like a true double was in order.

Worst Foot Rating: Bring The Pain - Light (4)
GALLOPS? Not unless 4 traded places with 8 and everybody forgot to tell me.

Greatest Achievement in a Bad .dwi: stv2049 for his work in Super Mario Bros. (Dirty Mix)
It's not like there's a lack of effort here. With the mind-tripping video so well-done, you WANT this to be good. But alas...

BaldOne's Pix for the Finals:

Popular vote (in no particular order):
Ultimate Cheeseburger (Bet the farm on this one)
Tank! (BMS-Syndrome limited to Challenge steps - phew!)
More And More (Gets the "We Hate Ultimate Cheeseburger" vote)

Judges vote (in no particular order):
Beach Visions (The real victim of the UCB hype)
Inspector Gadget (Techno Remix) (Good, no matter what you call it)
Tank! (See above)

Overlap Vote (gets in thanks to the public and judges agreeing)
Tears In Heaven (Beats Akumajo Dracula... but not by much)

So there you go. Until next week, peace!

-_- *sigh*
You're putting the blam on TournaMix, that is incorrect. I didn't make any of these entries =p

Also, Dont mindlessly insult entries. I dont think you entered or posted a single review.

People, if you are expecting all 175 entries... No, let me rephrase... If you're expecting 50! entries to be of high quality, you are foolish. Most of these people are newbies.
Again, calm it down in the mindless insults. Yes I realise youre mighty opinion is just so great but really, no one wants to hear it. Not if you're just gonna complain and generalize.

Jesus, i'm not even though bracket 1 and i'm already sick of the poor behavior.

Ok, Rule #1: If you're going to insult stuff, learn how to use the shift button. It's the one that says SHIFT. If you hold it down when you type a letter... you get an Upper Case letter!

Seriously though, if you're going to bash entries and imply that you can do it better... why not do it better? I mean, I try to critique entries somewhat intelligently, without stooping to words like sux0rs. Why not give it a shot?

I'm just astonished that people have the sack to say "Touramix 4 sucks" when this is only pack 1 of what.. 10? 12? There's about 210 songs to work with, people, so I'd start the suggestions of shutting your gobs until it's over. I'm tired of people that just sit and prod on how bad something sucks when they don't lift a finger to show that they could make a better one.

EDIT: Winners have been announced.

Congradulations to Shortysnmn2010, ddrmax9898, Damian Yerrick, Dave Phaneuf, BG_Hojo72, and Phrekwenci for moving on.

But, I must thank you, the people, for the placement.

Phrek you got 6th by judge vote. That's not bad.

I can't say i'm surprised by the top 2 though. Tears in Heaven and Honey, Do it tonight! were freaken awesome.

I guess I was the only person using DWI that had a problem with Around the World. Everytime I tried it, i failed immediately. confused.gif

Yea, I didn't read the results at the end last night. Though they seemed to tear it apart.

Bracket #2 is now available via BitTorrent; you can find BitTorrent and the link to the Bracket file in DDRManiaX's forums.

Blah on server problems. Apologies to everyone for not getting out this bracket as early as we wanted. But yes, bracket 2 is out now, and you can get the Torrent file from either DDRei or DDRManiaX. There's one mirror running, but we ask that you use BT if at all possible and help seed everyone else's download. We couldn't get the DDRei server to work with us, and DDRUK and BemaniStyle are both not working as of now, so we're relying rather heavily on BT right now.

From what I've seen of this second bracket, I can say one thing.

neoMAX is now my favorite MAX. The song is great, and the steps are mostly original, with some steps seeming to have been borrowed from the other MAXs. But its definitally got my vote.

Ok Let me spit out a few things. Note I have not played all of them yet, but i will state some things.

The new Max is average song wise, though beautiful piano work (Or synthesizer or whatever) .. the 2nd half of it is awesome. Also, wonderful steps and EXCELLENT SYNC.

Songs that also get the nod to perfect sync = Cry out, Ride on the light, Complicated (I only played the challenge steps, but they seemed great syncwise) Light a Rainbow

Songs that have perfect sync... if your goal is to get greats = Remember me LOL.

Songs with crappy steps and/or horrible sync = Yesterday, Click Clock Wood, The secret of mana tune

Song that were cut poorly = The dragon half song, Power plant (Somethings should not have been cut.. it made the song worse.)

Interesting songs = ESC, too bad the sync was whacked.

Worst song of the batch stepwise = The Crystal method one. I say this because the speed up makes NO SENSE, and there is a fair amount of steps after the song was done.. O_o WHIAPdfgr? Yes that is my word i made up. WHY AP DE FIGGER? Ok ill shut up.

Radetzky march had bad steps.

Cry out had a nice background biggrin.gif

Power plant had Pretty good steps

(yes im random)

That fish song.. interesting . it certainly didnt suck.
