Yea, that's where the line is.

Though, I am curious to know if I made Cartoon Heroes. Would you say that feels like IIDX (the DDR version, of course)?

Angle dance has really good steps. The song is kind of long (and dated) but the steps are really fun. I also think I was the only one that liked this song also.

Nah, there were others in the DDREI thread that liked it. The main complaint was the length - I guess I should have cut it to standard DDR length.
I also got a few emails and IMs from people that liked it and remembered Square One from their youth.

SPUI, add me to that list! I loved Square One, and I could have sworn nobody else did until I saw your entry in TM4! Ah, the joys of educational new-wave...

Aaaaanyhow, I went for (in no particular order), More And More, Beach Visions, and In The Hall of Inspector Gadget, so I went neither way in the Tank/Tears debate. However, I would pick Tank! over TIH. TIH is a great .DWI, but it's missing something (and I don't know what it is). Tank does suffer BMS syndrome on the challenge steps, but they're challenge steps, so I let them go. Its energy won me over.

Billy Croccodile (Speed Mix), Tears In Heaven, Around The World, and Tank! (Ua-EMP2 Remix) are my favorites in the first pack. Beach Visions and Chikara are also nice, but they bore me a bit.

Nope, Tank is much harder then Cartoon Heros.

Look at this for a second (now this is my opinion of course).

The thin black line represents the difficulty in Cartoon Heroes Heavy, IMO. It doesn't peak much other than the near the beginning of the Be Lovin type jump section and toward the end of the chorus with some weird double stepping at 172 bpm.

The thick dark red line represents TANK! Heavy, IMO. It has peaks during the 16th note run/afronova gallop section and the Electro Tuned double tap section. But the signifigantly drops during the middle in the freeze arrow section and at the end and is 154 bpm.

Just because TANK! has more difficult sections doesn't make it harder. It has a larger fluxuation of difficulty. Consider My Summer Love. If that had a scale, it would have a large peak in the middle and the rest would be pretty low, and that is a 9.

Tank! isn't that hard. The song kicks ass (I'm begining to wonder if I prefer this remix over the original), the step chart is synched with the song perfectly, and I gather much enjoyment out of playing it. That's all that matters. Give Phrek a break, guys. He did a damn fine job.

Sigh I dont believe this, I should have tried to submit one.

Oh well, comments on each songs hardest step chart.

Angle Dance = Goofy song O_o... Well synced, good arrows.. its just too long and repetitive and cut poorly at the end.

Catch you catch me euro mix = Man this song.. Ughh so overmade and remixed, but this stepchart was pretty well done biggrin.gif

100 sec kitchen battle = Bad sync, uncessecary slowdown, average arrows.

Honey Do It Tonight! = A good song choice, but the japanese version is better. Nice, fun arrows.

ITM = Interesting song, and pretty good arrows to go with it, i've seen much worse.

Lightswitch rave = Awful.

Ultimate Cheeseburger = A hilarious and innovative song choice, along with some fun arrows, good job.

Akumajou Dracula Medley = Good stuff, fun arrows. You have great rhythm in the arrows. Its good when a stepchart doesnt emulate every noise exactly. Or else we have beatmania.

Always = Nice song.. Offsync a little and the actual stepchart leaves something to be desired.. maybe you had the wrong bpm.

Around the world = Felt a little long, though pretty good steps.

Billy Crocodile = This person is smart, he/she got a song from dancemania so it feels like it should be in a ddr mix. Also, fantastic steps.

Rumpshaker = I couldnt care less for the song, but the steps are pretty cool.. if they were actually on sync.

Beach Visions = Awesome song, Perfect sync, nice steps, what can i say?

Bring the pain = Badass song. Really cool steps, for the first half. I dont know what happened in the 2nd half..? :S

Chikara = No problems at all with this, great job.

More and More = No real problems, it just feels a bit too long. Great stuff.

Tank = Certainly didnt suck. Did drag on a bit, but had good arrows and good sync.

Tears In Heaven = Perfect sync and innovative arrows patterns.

Travelling = Slightly off sync, but fun arrows.

Inspector Gadget techno remix = ¬¬. its In the hall of the mountain king techno remix, it sounds nothing like Inspector Gadget... Fun steps though.

Motor Pac City = Fun steps, but the song choice is nothing special.

Strike on = ... ew.

Flashdance = Slight above average, nothing to rave about.

Eternity = Too offsync for it to be any fun. But the arrows have potential.

Mario brothers dirty mix = :S Not too great.

i've got to take back what I said earlier about tank. It's really grown on me. It's easily in the top 5 best in this set, but I still prefer Tears in Heaven.

This is how the first pack goes...

Either you liked TANK! or you liked Tears in Heaven... and then there are stragglers like Ultimate Cheeseburger. But it really looks split down the middle.

I thought tank was really fun to play E1.gif . It was hard at first, but after trying it for a while the steps make sense. I don't see why everyone is comparing our DWIs only, it's not like ours were the only two styles. It seems like it's going to be between Ultimate Cheeseburger, More and More, Angle Dance, Inspector Gadget, Catch you/me, and our entries.

100 sec Kitchen Battle and the Dracula MEDLEY ones were really fun also. I hope to see more comments about them E1.gif .

Btw, thanks for the comments! ^.^

Best dwis of tournamix 3 were Winter, Zack McCracken (sp?) although it could have been synched a little better, tsu4, confusion, airen, and stoic.

Hah super mario bros Dirty mix was cool, if only for that mario on acid video that it came with.

Seriously, i think that ultimate cheesburger one was sheer genious laugh.gif

My favorites for merit and good songs are Tank and Tears in Heaven. Tears in heaven is a slight bit easy though, i AA'd it first try on judge 5 (SM). Tank seemed more like Beatmania to me, i failed challenge first try on 1x speed >_< finally got it on 3x though.

Oh and nice going Phrek, good dwi (tank).

I liked Tank! from the first time I played it. However, those blasted gallops on one arrow stop me from AAing it frown.gif And I can't even get anywhere in Challenge because of the first part laugh.gif riiight.gif

I think for me; Tank, the Dracula Medley, More and More, Always and Hall of Inspector Gadget were the ones that stood out. Ultimate Cheeseburger, 100 sec Kitchen Battle and Chikara are pretty good too.

I can't wait for next week... E4.gif

I can't either, but I am really waiting for the judges reviews tomorrow, and the final count Sunday. And I have been told by some judges that the second pack is quite good, better than this first one.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who liked TANK! Hope the vote shows it. thumb.gif

*develops shifty eyes concerning the second pack*

Yeah. riiight.gif *cough*

I hope Tank gets through. The trick and basic steps totally own as far as trick and basic steps go, and the maniac steps are fun to do on a keyboard. It's a good song too; got a good vibe to it.

*realises she needs to go vote* riiight.gif

I won't say that bracket 2 is much better than bracket 1. But then again, I thought both had some really excellent stuff. Some of the files in the second bracket will just scream out at you though.

I couldn't get Catch You, Catch Me (Super Euro Version) to work because of the .avi clip that came with it, so I just deleted it and tried out the challenge steps. Needless to say, they're fuckin' awesome. thumb.gif

Bracket 2 needs to be released, NOW! XD
