Whenever i AA or FC something i've never done before i just think to myself "dude, you've seen pictures of 100% on oni courses and AAA's on every song you can think of. Until you can do that, get the fuck over yourself"

When I would clear a song after not being able to at the arcade for a long time... like, say... my first time clearing Max300... I jumped up and down on the pads saying "I did it! I did it! Finally!"

That is not cockiness.. that is being excited. It's not like it's wrong to feel good after making a new accomplishment! What's the point of even playing if you make yourself feel bad all the time when you finally accomplish something? I think that I have gotten all of the excitement out of me finally...

Self actualization is an important part of everything. It doesn't mean you have to brag about it... and make fun of other people because they can't do it. I believe if you tell someone status on your skill, it's not being boastful or cocky... It's just being proud of something. I know when my friends come in and tell me, "Man, I just got a 572 combo on Max300 again... with ONE GOOD" I go "Dang... that is amazing". It's not bragging... it's not being cocky. If they admit to being "Better than you" though... I say that is uncalled for. I will never once admit to being better than any of my friends...

Hmmmmmmm well Jin that is NOT bragging you're right. Sometimes I'm like "YES!" when I do something tight and that is definitely NOT bragging.

I'm still wondering why a 13 year old girl feels cocky...

that will haunt me for a long time.

Perhaps if you ever beat Tigger, JSB, Or GPF Lith (which will never EVER EVER happen) and and im confident that it wont.... then you can be cocky all you want...

I know some 13 year old sk8ers & breakdancers that are REALLY REALLY good. Still yet are very humble and are GUYS for cying out loud. Sk8boarding or breakdancing are two things that are a much better thing to brag about than a dumb arrow smashing game.

Cockiness + Kevyn = Terrible results.

Buh, you guys are being too hard on her. You saw the "cocky" word choice and jump on her like she's a mini-JSB. I don't know WHY she, Jeff, and I started getting compared to him, but whatever.

She just feels good, she doesn't trash on other girls or anyone else, for that matter. We live in freaking Marin County, so the DDR scene is pretty dry, and she's probably the best girl in the area. At 13, I'd feel pretty good about that, too. Jeff and I are the best in this area, too, so she assumed we were well known (hah).

My advice? If you're telling someone at the arcade about a new accomplishment or something, tell someone who's better than you. Then they can smile and nod 'n such, whereas someone below you's just gonna go "umm...ok...damn". Just don't walk around like you own the place, Lily--even though you're not doing this, just a heads-up.

If your being cocky while in "tournament mode", it's all good in my book.
Just don't be overly dissapointed if you are on the losing end.
How you recover from it is what makes you a better or worse person.

Dude... Cocky is bad around here... Not many people put up with it... you may be lucky enough to just get shunned, or you may be unlucky and have a group of people on your case.

Seriously though... being cocky is not a good personality trait. People don't like it when someone is cocky... its just no fun! You should seriously try to think about that next time you realize you're being cocky. Cocky = No Fun. Remember that!

Nope, if you watch that of Yasu (or was it Take?) AAAing Max300, you will clearly see that the max combo AND the perfects say 555 (thats including +2 jumps.

Ah forget it, I could be wrong.

But my response to cockiness. I'll admit I am sometimes cocky, but not to people I don't know. I'll go bragging to my frineds how much better I am than them, but they take it well, because they know I am only kidding. But cockiness to random strangers = not good and deserves an ass kicking.

Im not cocky, but I do something similar. I always like to draw a crowd. I can't seem to get enough attention. Its really sad, but thats the way it is. At least I dont act cocky when they talk to me though.

Oh I'm sure everyone has been cocky once or so when they DDR, I've done it myself a few times around noobs. I sometimes act like I'm better than them by showing what I can do and shoving it in their face if they diss me. Argh...I also hate it when n00bs don't know the coin line.

I'm not cocky at all, because I know there are players much much better than me. All I have to do to see better players is go to san jose(svgl) to see players like ver2, ja cracka, chubs, emphasys, nikari, etc... all players who can pwn me.

You really shouldn't be cocky, because really no matter how good you may be there is almost always somebody better than you.
