and i want to get and arcade game. Preferably a Bemani. Right now at channelbeat they have a guitar freaks 2nd mix for 1850. i might settle for that. but if anyone can find a bemani for 2k or a tad bit over (a really tad bit) IT WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. and i dont want ddr
Thanks! _________________

Uh, just my two cents, don't buy from channel beat. Most of their stuff is bogus I hear. For example DBA in Tennesee ordered a IIDX 8th style from them, they got it two weeks later, but it wasn't an 8th style. It was a gutted 3rd style with no monitor or game board.
Go look around ebay for stuff or find a real arcade distributor. _________________

Yeah, I've seen a few Beatmania (both original and BM III) machines on EBay. I don't think the asking price for any of them was over $1000.
If you're in to Beatmania, you might want to wait until there's something on EBay. |

Weenie Hut Jr. = Spongebob Squarepants?........
Whatever you buy, buy a RARE Bemani game. Or buy a Beatmania? But if not that, a mambo a gogo or pop n music would be fun to have around IMO, although you most likely won't find one. |

ok so if channelbeat sells crapped up broken machines, whats another good bemani dealer?
i am hoping for guitar freak 2nd or 3rd mix but i am also interested in Key board mania or beatmania. percussion freaks is far too exspensive.
Thanks! _________________

If you can, wait a year or two, and then decide if you still want one.
If you do, then you know it's probably a good purchase. And, you'll be able to afford a better bemani |

Usually buying an arcade game is something you do when you have a lot more money than you need for an arcade game; spending all of your spare money on something like that is um... a bit frivolous? Open a savings account ;-) |

If you are going to buy a machine, buy one that isn't dead (KBM, BM, BMIII, DMX, PPP) or is rare (MGG). That way, if you get more money, you can upgrade to newer and better ones or can sell it and still get good money. I personally would not go and buy a machine, unless I had more money than I knew what to do with. |

I'd say save it or spend it on something more worthwhile.. unless you're rich or something. But if you do buy an arcade game, they have 5 key beatmania machines pretty cheap (like $300) on Yahoo Japan auctions all the time. _________________

Yeah. You should do something else with 2000 dollars. Thats not a good Idea to spend it on a machine.
Unless you have a steady high paying job, A car, House, etc, or just have money out your ass.
Thatd be stupid paying 2000 dollars for a game over something like a car or something..
hmph.. your money..
save up and add up and get iidx. _________________

Instead of buying 1 arcade machine, you should just buy a poopy of good home stuff. 2 CF DDR pad, 2 IIDX ASC controllers, 2 PnM ASC controllers, 2 Konami guitars. And you still should have some $$$ left over! |

They have a decent selection.
Rember though if you are buying an import machine you need a power converter! I highly suggest you contact the seller about this as if it comes from Korea or Japan that thing won't work here.Another thing is if you plan on putting it in public make sure you can get insurance (this is geared towards dancing games obviously)you don't want some one sueing you cause they broke their ankle getting off the machine do you? Spare parts are a must , if you can't find a reliable dealer for spare parts (channel beat has them for most of the major Bemani games but I have not done buisness with them so I can't tell you), another thing you don't want is a dead machine only to find you have no were to get new parts!
I have never personally bought a arcade game but I have gone through a majority of the steps with help from a more expierenced buyer so definetly know what you are getting! For example don't look at a 1800$ machine from Korea and expect to pay under 2000$ cause shipping a large game like that over the pond ain't cheap my friend. |

Ah, misinformation. I highly suggest you look at the Japanese or Korean DDR machine at your arcade and try to find this imaginary power converter that is supposedly necessary. However, China (and Hong Kong) are a different matter entirely.
