Some guys are just like that. Hell, I have the tendency to scope girls on looks alone--it's comes natural to lots of people. Granted, I don't talk to random strangers about that thing, it's something you discuss with friends only. :P
However, you also know that he had no chance in Hell with Kel. :D Whenever some jerkoff makes comments like that, keep that in mind, and allow yourself a smug look at him before walking off. Also has the fringe benefit of making him wonder what the hell that was about.
I also applaud your self control and not ruining the evening. I could use some of that self-discipline.
Back to the thread at hand...you know, I think I completely forgot to mention the one really basic, should-be-natural-but-usually-isn't rule of etiquette that one should practice: a firm handshake and a "good game!" after the match. It doesn't matter who won or lost in the end--ESPECIALLY on an arcade machine in friendly competition--and the handshake symbolizes that. It's a good way of reminding your opponent that, hey, it's just a game, and you did your best, and that's what matters. _________________

handshake! I never thought of that... maybe because I'm not very good at it
and though you did a good job keeping control, I can tell you that a girl appreciates her friends who look out for her! _________________

First off, I'm going to have to say that I don't think a girl would EVER ask me to go up with her on the DDR stage. It's not that I'm grotesque or anything, to the contrary I do have confidence in myself. It's just that after a few stages on Heavy, call it my European ancestry, I transform into a sweaty beast, oozing smelly sweat and warped testosterone that only a copious amount of Degree can hope to combat.
As for male vs. female on the stage, I can relate. I know of at least one lady thats kicked my buttocks a few times at DDR...as far as a tournament record, its 1-3 in her favor. I didn't really care, I guess at the time back when I started DDR I thought more women would be playing this game then men. Boy, what a misconception...but I think that viewpoint made it so that no alarms went off in my head. I wonder, though, if I just went up against her out of the blue before meeting her...because before I formally met her I saw her do CSFIL (Speed) back at a time I was unable to.
To be honest, there aren't that very many girls who play DDR at the arcade I go to...I only know of two who play regularly, and a few others who do it for poopy and giggles because their boyfriends are into it, or they work at the mall or something like that. I would actually like to see more female players at my scene because I'm all for equality of the sexes, even though I come off as kind of a misogynist sometimes. _________________

Hey, don't some of the Machines have Couple mode?
Because if it does, I think it would be more fun to choose that, because I do things like that on PIU with this one girl, it's a lot better. _________________

And I hate it when guys stare at my butt too. Oh wait I"m a guy, and I've been hit on by another guy before
I must say it was rather...uncomfortable. I still see him where I play sometimes too at the long beach towne center! ICK!
I feel so stupid after last night. It probably goes against everything I stand for in DDR etiquette. A girl asks if she wants to play. I said "WEll nah not right now...i'm kinda tired etc. etc." And fibbed to her I didnt want anyone to play with me that night. No matter how cute she was =( Me feels stoopid.
The question I was pondering was "Was she mad at me for turning her down?"
Because I know girls dont like to hear the word "No" especially coming from a guy. _________________

Thing is, the ones staring usually aren't the ones playing. :P

Well, little white lies are one thing. Yeah, it might've been better if you just said "I'm sorry, I'm not in the mood to play against anyone right now," but saying that was all right, so long as you said it politely and it wasn't immediately followed by you going and playing PSM in front of her face (which, in retrospect, is also part of "saying it politely"). _________________
