I was just wondering if there was a way to get marvelous steps for stepmania..
Also, to those who have altered their .ini to change the timing windows to be more arcade-like could you please share?

Just download any of the CVS's after 4/20.
Also, "Arcade Like" with steps could mean anything.
At the Extreme machine at the mall (Example):
Perfects: 341
Greats: 19
Good:0
And at a Extreme machine at my local bowling alley (Same song, Example)
Perfects: 225
Greats: 135
Good: 0
Its up to you to change the "Judge Difficulty" setting to your liking. |

The CVS builds to Stepmania are here:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=37892
Just follow that link, download the CVS version that you would like, and then you can choose in options if you would like Marvelous steps turned on or off. _________________

Is there an extreme skin for this version of SM? I tried the old one but it only works for some parts of the game. _________________

CVS builds do not have the compatibility to run themes throughout the whole game except for the main screen.
The other screen(s) use the old graphics and colors. _________________

A CVS build is basically a updated version of Stepmania but just not a Final Release yet. They fix bugs that are found in Stepmania and make it more like the arcade. _________________

Sorry, I should have been more specific, what I mean by more arcade like is the size of the timing windows.
I've already set the judge and life difficulties to 5, but thats not really what I'm asking about. It's the amount of time which I can step and still get a perfect/great/etc that I'm asking about..
I've seen some more precise adjustments to the timing windows for dwi posted but I can't find much for stepmania :| _________________

Try the CVS builds of Stepmania, they are much more harsh about where the perfect is and how far away from the stationary arrows the moving arrows can be for a great or good. _________________

The other screen(s) use the old graphics and colors. | No, it's far more themable than 3.0 was, but almost all themes will require updating. Currently, the only supported (by me, at least) themes are the default theme and SMMAX2. |

The 5th mix one which was mentioned on these boards works perfectly for me with the latest CVS as of the 30th of May. |

The intent of your question has been answered, but I'll add this:
CVS=Content Verification System. It allows multiple people to work on a project and update different sections simultaneously. I don't know why later CVS builds don't have some features that earlier ones do though - it seems using CVS would eliminate this. |
