Hey, Kathy here!
I havent posted in a while so you might not remember me  . I've heard a lot of controversy over which gender generally has the upper hand on ddr. Some people say that guys are better because they think their usually stronger  and some think girls have the upper hand because they're often more agile  and some think that both genders have advantages and disadvantages, therefor on even footing. What's your oppinion? I want to find out who it is that thinks different things. So please tell your oppinion, your age, gender, and where you're from! Mine is-
Opinion~ girls, because we tend to be lighter (not always the case) and so thenwe can move faster (yet again, not always the case)

Well, around here, there are like NO Girls that play, which is weird, because DDR is mostly for Girls.
They wboth are evn.

DDR is mostly for girls, where did you get this information from?
DDR was made for everyone to have a fun time playing a game they like with some competition.
If any game was made for a more girl audience I would have to say PPP.

| DDR is for everyone, and PPP is aimed for girls, I think. The dance movements are just too girly. |

The game was made in Japan, and I've been to Japan and seen the players in action, so I have to say:
DDR - guys. Except Solo 2000. For some reason, Solo 2000 seemed to be popular with the girls.
PPP- girls. mostly Kogals. I play it though, and it's fun. :-P

argument for why ddr is for girls: lots of girls are really into dancing, and a dancing video game might seem interesting as opposed to the 1000's of games that involve dismembering human beings with some sort of explosive weapon (not to say that girls DONT like some of those games... and some do =p)
argument for why ddr is for guys: its a video game, guys genreally are more into video games than girls are. |

I think if ddr was made more for girls, there would be much more girl type/happy hardcore/cute songs. And all the ddr mascots would be girls.
DDR is for everyone because of the wide variety of music and usually has something for everyone. |

I'd say all the "Cutey" songs are for the girls just to get into the game... while the guys try to AA or AAA them funny but true....
If they were for girls.... Yea a lot more pink around the machine don't you tink? and Girly easy music 
If they were for guys... Hardcore techno.... More techno in general... since a lot of people(guys) listen to it, and there wouldn't be that song Frekles in it

Are you calling me a girl?
I look at it this way. When you look at the top technical players - they're all male. When you look at the top freestyle videos they mostly male players. Does that mean "gender xx" is better than "gender xy" - no it's just a piece of trivia.

Guys will always be better than girls because close to no girls will ever put in the dedication and hard work that is needed to get good at this game. Guys will because guys are obsessive like that. As far as I'm concerned, the only girls who could beat me at this game would be from Japan. You really don't hear about any top-tier female players...they're all male: GPF, Tigger, JSB, VGTA, etc.

I think guys and girls are pretty much even, if thely are willing to keep playing and get better. True...I don't see many girls when I go to arcades or tournaments, but they're out there!
And some girls ARE willing to put in the dedication to get better. I'm willing (trying to beat those 10 footers), and I know there are others that are, too!
Oh yeah...and there is a top tier female player...She may not be at the level of the people you listed, but I think she will be someday. She is...
