Actually, I just have the discs, I just leave the outer top off, and have the other top (The one that truly covers the CD; the one with the white disc) without the screws and use it like that, when it says to INSERT DISC, I just pull up that cover, put in the import put the cover back down, and there you go. No Flip Top, Knife swap or anything else.

Sounds easy as heck to do also. My friend actually broke his PS2 doing the knife swap trick, but he was forcing it and the try came off the track E10.gif We had to open up the whole thing to fix it.

So if you do the knife swap DON'T FORCE YOUR TRAY OPEN.

Does anyone have any info on x-box mod chips? I am looking for something just to play import games, but something that is easy to install, and that won't lock my system out of x-box live.

Taken from china-magic:

For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap is required.

For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.

I know the has probably been asked before but instead of using the Swap Discs 2.0, can you use the Gameshark2 instead? And for PSX Backups and Imports can you use the second disc (PSX codes) of the gameshark to boot them? Thenx in Advanced.

i think there's something wrong with my disc, i tried playing DDRMAX2 JPN burned copy with my swap magic v2.0 and everytime i tried a pink border appears on where it says insert disc. and then one time a blue one came on and started to load. wats going on is it my disc or swap magic?

For the PSX, does anyone have a preference between the Game Enhancer 3 http://store.unet.net/shop/showdetl.cfm?&DID=12&Product_ID=12&CATID=1 and the Game Hunter http://www.consolesource.com/playstation/ps-gh-crt.htm ?

Are they equal or does one have an advantage over the other?

Anyways, I am having problems with my PS2 flip cover. The PS2 is not reading the disk now that I have put it on. Did I screw it up? Does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks, Owen.

Well I installed a USB Mod in her PS2, and it wont load the backup copies I made of her IIDX, it wont load, it says Press "X" and I do and everything locks up....what do I have to do?

Now, what would be the difference between the red Magic 3.1 chip http://www.consolesource.com/playstation2/p2-m31-mod.htm & the blue http://www.psx-tech.com/magic3.htm ? They both say they're not clones, but I can't find any mention of the blue one on China Magic's site, although consolesource.com does have a blue one listed as the 3.0. Is psx-tech's picture just old?

I have the following configuration: PS2, Magic 3 Chip, Real Copy of 5th Mix

I want to play it but as everyone knows...it has stupid buttocks mod protection in it keeping me out of the groove. I have downloaded the patch from megagames.com and used it correctly but the patch is not a complete one for i cannot access any of the other menus besides the Game Mode and Diet Mode. Any menu that requires the "Now Loading..." screen is locked out and pauses.

My questions: 1) Is there anyone who is willing to complete the patch or knows any where i can find info to complete the patch myself?
2) Are there any work arounds for this config?
3) Will the PS-X-Change Ver 2 with codes work on it with my current config? E19.gif

If it is a software thing then i imagine the anti mod codes would work but become a pian to enter everytime i wanted to play.... so i'd prefer writing a patch.

I dont think a PSXChange would work. You might wanna try a Gameshark thatll work with PS1 games on a PS2.

yes but that requires buying that thing doesn't it? I just need something that allows me to enter those codes in...or better yet...those codes are direct binary sequences, ne? Couldn't someone here jsut write them into a better patch instead of the retarded one at megagames.com?
