OK, someone said they'd fix the extra stage .crs file(s) if you posted them. Well, I'm having problems so I am going to post the code I have....hopefully, someone will fix it.
#COURSE:Extra Stage;
#SONG:\Dance Dance Revolution Extreme\The Legend Of Max:1.5x, reverse, NoRecover;
#END;
Please fix it ASAP. Also, I'd like the second extra stage fixed.

Please note that the "ddr" folder is the "Dance Dance Revolution" song.

I need some help with the BM98 program(the older Beatmania sim). I have been looking online for some English language help for the sim but I have only found one FAQ that only tells you the bare necessities. i would really appreciate it if someone could please post a link to a site where I can find comprehensive help and directions for using the program, and hopefully a guide that could help me figure out how to use the BMS Creator program. Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Check in the .DWI files' "#FILE" tags to make sure that they are pointing to your MP3 files (for example if your Tsugaru Mp3 is in C:\My Documents, that thw DWI file says "#FILE:C:\My Documents\Tsugaru.mp3;"
2. Make sure that you have all of the banner/background image files for your DWIs (actually this shouldn't matter, as 2.xx versions of DWI will display "image Not Available" if you don't have these files.
3. Check to make sure that your files are organized in the correct way.
4. If you're using an older version of DWI, try using the "Refresh Song List" command in the Options menu.

Actually, there is a thread in the Other Music Games forum for BM simulators. I'd check there for a good response.

That is probably your problem right there. You must use the title of the song, not the folder it is located in. It can be very different.

On Stepmania CVS almost NONE of the banners show up OR any song backgrounds. Also when it's at the "name entry" screen, when your done putting your name in it will crash and you HAVE to restart it.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had these problems, or if I just had the settings on in a weird way.

Now that I think about it, I actually meant to say for Legend Of Max, the no recover does NOT work.....same with the speed modifier. The songs themselves work correctly, yes. Could you or someone please fix that? Thanks. |

Well about the banners and backgrounds, if they are anything but png images, they tend not to show up. I know because my originals are only png files and they always show up. The name entry thing I don't know anything about.

Well as long as the code goes like this...
:1.5x, Reverse, POWER-DROP: ...then you'll be fine. The terms are listed in the read me.

Well see thats the problem. They ARE all .png images.
On the normal Stepmania everything works perfectly.
Is it that this is just a beta test or somthing and they havent worked out all the bugs?
Come to think of it there were 2 versions of the new one, so I guess I'll go download the secondabout that.

Grrr...I got tempted and all..I downloaded STepmania CVS. Sure it looks cool, but there are 2 Major Problems!!!!
For me..
1) I put a the DDrExtreme Theme, but when I put it, it the appearnce and the whole game is part Max and Part Extreme.. Wtf??
I'll show some pix to see wut I mean because I cant really explain it..
2)When I play Stepmania CVS, it pauses WAY!!!!too long..
Like it takes 5 seconds to scroll when I'm selecting a song..and playing
So yea compared to Regular Stepmania, Stepmania CvS is slow and gay for me..but I want it to change!!!
So could anyone help me??
ANy suggestions??

Has anyone here tried to play Stepmania in Windows 2003? Because I have and, it just crsahes because it does not understand the kernel.  I hope this problem is resolved very soon. |

There are also selections in the options screen about the backgrounds and banners. I haven't familiarized myself with them yet, but your answer might lie there.

That's probably because some of the new features aren't compatable with the skins yet, or the skin doesn't have that extension for the new CVS

Weird, it was totally the opposite for me. Well, if you like the older version better stick with it.

Windows 2003? Didn't know that existed. All I know of is 2000, NT and XP (and ones before that). Do you mean XP?

Well for the slowness thing Re-Download it, there are 2 versions: there is a normal one and one with an "a" at the end. Get the one with the "a", it's newer.
Yea I had this problem and I just re-installed it and CVS got over it. 
It still has A LOT more problems than the normal one so you're better off sticking to the normal one.
