The differences between the two codes is one unlock.. and it's not even a good unlock.

Its true. One of those codes only seems to unlock 1-29. The arcade I work at only has up to 29, but still needs the home versions. I think this may be due to the fact that it's a bootleg and this may adversely affect the unlpock process, but I doubt it.
Has it been confirmed by any official sources that there is no "OMG TEH SECRAT UNLOCK COED OF D0O0O0o0oM 1-31" unlock code that Konami has planned? I know that the majority of the community says that 1-30 is it, but... .. . okay I don't really have anything else to say, I'm just upset that this is 'it' for DDR in the arcades. Please god let there be an Extreme 2.

Why would you ASSUME there's another unlock code? If your answer is "Because there was an unlock 31 on MAX2", I'll remind you that's the same argument people use when they think there's a point system on Extreme.
The community has stripped the data CDs, and there are no more songs, no more Oni courses, no more nonstop orders.
Anyone complaining that this mix isn't big enough needs to find another game to play, because nothing that Konami will ever do will make them happy.

Forgive me for having hope. Please don't ASSUME I'm some pompus newbie who thinks that because Max2 had a point system, that I would assume Extreme had one and that I'd also take it that there would be a thirty-first unlock because of Max2. That was not the case. I would have hoped that me calling it the "OMG TEH SECRAT UNLOCK COED OF D0O0O0o0oM 1-31" unlock code, and saying, "I'm just upset that this is 'it' for DDR in the arcades." would have hinted that I was jokingly asking this, and wasn't really expecting anyone to respond in a serious manner. One thing that the unlock codes have done at my work is change the DEMO/ATTRACT song. It used to be Speed over beethoven before the unlocks, now it's at La Copa de vida.
So, with the 2 different codes, does it change the attract song by chance? |

On our machine here, after we put in the last code, the attract song in always Dance Dance Revolution.
So I would imagine that yes, it does change it.

The attract song cycled Speed Over Beethoven, I Do I Do I Do, La Copa De La Vida, and... I cant remember. DDR got added to the list with the 1-30 unlock, it still plays the others as well, just less frequently.
