|
|
Ive been looking into Drummania, and since it looks awesome, Im gonan buy into it. I see the prices for GF3/DM2(Jesus.), and they are a tad pricey. Im guessing Drummania 1st Mix is cheaper, but I cant find it anywhere.
Here are my questions. Should I save up for GF3/DM2, or just buy DM 1st Mix? And where can I find 1st Mix?
Thanks. _________________

Well, I can say that the major difference between all of them is the song lists. Drummania 1st Mix does have Session mode, but you can't play Guitar Freaks by itself. Also, I believe DM 3 is the only one that supports USB MIDI adapters. But personally, I think the songlist for 2nd looks better. If you can find it cheap, 1st Mix has good songs. There just aren't a whole lot of them. Session mode has some good GF 2nd Mix stuff, though.

All brand new legit Drummania 1st mix comes with the Konami drum set; in fact, that's the only way for you to get the Konamia drum set.
I did a quick search. Drummania 1st mix available in Toys N Joys and Japan Video Games. Try also searching in shopping.yahoo.com. I think I also saw 1st mix available at eBay from a while back (but not currently).
Drummania 3rd has revamped UI from Drummania 1st, as well as 60 fps support (I believe?). I haven't tried Drummania 2nd, which I am looking into getting it lately. |

Don't go out of your way looking for the Konami drums. I bought a Topway from Red Octane, and the thing is even more sensitive than the arcade pads. I've heard that the Topways are actually better than the official sets. The foot pedal leaves a little to be desired, as it's very stiff, but I just plugged in a really nice one that came with my light gun.

Straight from the folks at Konami...
GF4/DM3/GF4+DM3 Session
GF3
DM2
GF3+DM2 Session
There's no music list for DM 1st, but it's basically the arcade version with 3 more songs. Also, Session Mode has about a dozen songs taken from DM 1st and GF 2nd. It's a pretty cool mix; it's just a little thin on songs. Personally, I'd pick GF3+DM2 as it has the best songs, despite having a meager selection for Session.

I have DM 1st mix and the drum set, and i thought i unlocked everything, but I've never seen body operation, adventures, holiday, or jet world on my game. Is there some special way to unlock them? Or are they in session mode or something? Ive never heard of these ones on my game, so Im just wondering if there's something i have to do to get them. Thanks! |

Those are Session mode songs. Get a friend over to play Session to unlock them for Free mode. In free mode, you can set the guitars to auto play and play those songs solo.

The UI of DM 1st mix is definitely aged, but it does come with some classical tracks. |

Hell yeah, baby. Where else can you play Eyes of Kids Expert Real? It's pretty short, and not too tough, but I like to use it for a warmup.

Red Octane has the Topway drums for $50, not including the shipping charge. They work very nice, unlike the Topway DDR mats and guitars. As for cheap Drummania games, I wish I knew.

you can do what i did to get my 1st party drums. If you can find a local (or not so local) specialty games shop that carries them, talk them down in price. It works best when they've had one for months and no one buys it. Got mine for $150 that way. or try trading for it. other than that, good luck finding them for less than $200, cause thats all ive seen on the internet so far _________________
