you can do this by adding the #GENRE: tag to your songs and sorting by genre. look in the readme that came with dwi for more information. |

Is it possible to have multiple #GENREs? Wouldn't they conflict?

| ok i have a cobalt flux and i bought a radio shack serial port to usb port adapter, but it won't recognize anything. I nstalled the serial-usb adapter but it won't work waht do i need to do? oh yeah i am using SM and windows XP home |

Uh, unless the pad has a serial port or usb port end. You shouldn't be able to conenct it to the computer at all.

| oh yes i can but not ignorant people they piss me off a lot like myh substitute teacher today she was like where are you going? i told her and she was like oh. but the way she said it made me feel like i was doing something wrong when in actuallity i wasn't and she was assmuming i was and she pissed me off as you have. |

ok now i got a quest for all of you. i have specific videos to go along with songs, and i have them sitting in the same folder as the mp3 and the dwi. according to the readme for stepmania, it should work. but in the dwi coding it has it as M:Movie:. \movies\<insert file name here>.avi LAYER:0;
anyone have any suggestions? |

Im having a prob with DWI:
Everytime i start it up, pick a song, start playing, the arrows lag and really throws me off key. Ne one know how to fix this?

It depends on your system, but the best way to get around this is just to run the sdl program in the DWI folder. It will run just the same as if you ran the exe. Almost always much smoother.

| Ok, I just downloaded Stepmania CVS newest version. When I run it the program lags and the arrows wont respond in time and the menus lag and everything. I run Windows 2000, i have 512 MB RAM and a pentium 4 chip. Could the problem be my OS or is it just my computer. Because none of my friends who run XP have a problem. |

Read the first post in this thread. It will explain where the sdl file is in the root of the DWI folder.

Your system looks fine. Do you have any other programs running or have the lastest version of DirectX?

| I have the latets version of Direct X but yes my computer has other programs running the in the background that I need running. But the only other program I have open is AIM and i dont know if that takes up enough memory to make SM lag. But does anyone know if it has to do with Windows because Im the only one of my friends running 2000 and they all run XP and it works fine for them |
