if you get hangovers often or tend to vomit easily i advise agianst doing it as jumping around a lot when drunk often results in either of those
but for some reason i hold my alcohol really well and have never had a hangover or vomited, even when playing (or trying to play) some songs on maniac drunk _________________

LOL this makes me think of a few good old time when i was intoxicated:
1. alchohol, been drunk once while playing DDR and been near drunk another time while playing DDR. all i can remember about both times was that it was a ton of fun despite the fact that i was doing really bad. but it was sooo much fun. i felt so relaxed and loose i was completely free of any tension.
2. weed, NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER play DDR when high, unless you've done it already and can do it. i had a bad experience when i played DDR really stoned for my first time. i think part of the problem might have been my shoes since they were really loose but i think most of my problem was that i was just too high. i nearly fell off the pad countless time and i couldnt even pass some easy songs on heavy. it was pretty embarassing for my friend who was dancing along with me. I'm going to have to try playing DDR high again and see wearing my better shoes makes a difference. i was tripping really bad anyways though, the arcade was getting wierder and wierder and i kept hearing voices. it was some wierd poopy being so high in a public place with kids and adults watching now. it almost amazes me that i didnt get caught by anyone, anyone could have figured out that i was quite stoned. |

I actually did a lot better when playing DDR while slightly intoxicated (only 2 drinks).. a few songs I'd just plain miss a note or two at random because of a slow reaction (after a break or at a tricky part) or just plain physically missing the arrow completely.. but it was a whole lot easier to flow with the beat and get the perfects (AA'd "I feel" even, with my eyes closed for much of it ), and I imagine I'd have been able to freestyle pretty well, too (hah, or at the least, thought I could freestyle well )..
It probably only worked out that way because I'm an extremely tense player, so a slowed reaction time was a good thing. |

There's only like 3 or 4 of us over 21 where I play. And.... there's a GREAT minibrewery next to the Arcade.....
Heh, nothing's better than a few pints of Guiness in ya while yer playin' bag! |

My story doesn't quite count, since I didn't have pads, but it kind of fits in. New Year's before this last one, I was at a party at my friend's house, and I was totally drunk off my ass. Somehow, I decided that everyone needed to see DDR, so I was going to play DDR with the DualShock2 while completely gone. I started playing, and somehow, I got the idea that yelling out every single step as I hit it would make me play better, and make it more interesting for everyone watching. Well, I was half-right. It didn't make me play better. I would like to go someplace and try to play DDR with at least a good buzz, though. Unfortunately, I'm usually the one driving. Doh! _________________

Following with the general sentiment, played DDR while drunk once. Never again. Although the first machine I ever saw in our area was in a bar, I never played it.
As for playing high, well, that's another story in itself. I find myself getting way too focused on the pretty colors swirling in the background, usually to the point where I forget about the arrows. So, that doesn't work either.
What does work, is watching people play while high. That way, I can have my fun with the backgrounds and not have to worry about the stepchart, or falling off the pad.
I do enjoy having a cool microbrewery right next door though (yes, it's the same one as skelecrypto). My solution....play DDR for hours, THEN get drunk/stoned/whatever. |

New Year's Eve, a time to party, hang out with friends, play DDR, and ring in the new year with generous quantities of champagne. I played after ringing in the new year, and although I did not play the hardest heavy songs, the 6 and 7 footers were really fun _________________
Well, the final total was 207, 342. The fuel pump went out, and since it would cost too much to fix, I donated the Buick to charity.
Fare thee well, Riviera, and God speed. |

personally i think playing under the influence sucks, ive done it three times.
1. drank a whole lot in japan and went out ddring all night.
2. gotten really high and played.
3. Took three vike's and a whole lot of alcohol.
The screen never stays still whil im under the influence, its always bouncing, plus i never lift my feet up enough and always trip _________________
